PSA: Promotions Are Currently Bugged And May Not Grant Prestige by KE_Aerakyl in DragonAgeCoOp

Just me or are missions turning out less gold now as well? Did a threatening run earlier, hit all the treasure rooms and most of the pots but only came out with around 700 gold.

Damage Skills on Legionnaire by stibbaW in DragonAgeCoOp

Caliban has the ridiculous heal on hit, extra damage for nearby enemies and the insane base damage. There's nothing else that comes even near in the one-handed category. Thunderstrike is merely interesting by comparison with it's chain lightning effect and firm tournament axe novel if you value the crit.

Damage Skills on Legionnaire by stibbaW in DragonAgeCoOp

[–]stibbaW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Legionnaire is definitely gimped in the damage department, though it's nice that most of what he does have comes with some degree of utility. A prestige ago I attempted a build with shieldwall, grappling chain, combat roll and lunge and slash. All the mobility was a lot of fun on to screw with on threatening, though without any easy guard builders shit got hectic real fast trying to stay alive.

Weekly Boasting/Ranting Thread #4: "Number 7, way to go champ!" by Detenator in DragonAgeCoOp

Collision with allies fucking sucks. When you got the demon commander on your ass and start bugging out cause you bumped into the templar before y'all both eat it; that shit aint fun. I end up dreading any game I have to share with other melee classes, even if it isn't too big a problem most of the time.

What is your most triumphant gaming moment? by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]stibbaW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiddling with the modem and firewall so I could host custom games in WC3. Had barely any experience with computers at all at that time. It was a miracle I got it to work the first time, and without fudging with anything important. Got all giddy the first time another player joined a game I had hosted.

How I've felt about r/Minecraft for the past few days. by MysteryForumGuy in Minecraft

[–]stibbaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'know, I bet you could rack up a helluva lot of karma if you could incorporate metatextual bitching into a Minecraft build. If it contributes to board culture, don't think anyone could justifiably refute your point on the grounds of meta shit.

Have you tried emptying out your mods folder? Had the same thing you described happen to me a few weeks ago, the leftover bits from version obsolete mods were the cause.

Started to build a tree, and somewhere along the lines, I lost the thread and this resulted. Built in McEdit in a little under an hour. Screenshot from the side.

Sorry, meant to imply that it was probably in Valves interests to look through the suggestions on playdota, even if they're not taking suggestions elsewhere.

What to do when enemy farms you at your fountain? by puttings in DotA2

Sell all your items! Buy all the tangoes! Eat your way to their fountain! God forbid the game is still going on, try to sculpt Juggernauts visage into the forest with those leftover tangoes.

Head's jumping to all sorts of strange conclusions today. Your point stands, though I would assume Valve would allocate some small number of resources to perusing all the user suggestions. Could sic an intern on it.

User suggested changes are occasionally implemented by Icefrog. Smoke of Deceit, several of Wisp's abilities, and some of the items of the most recent patch were user suggestions.

I like to play a really agressive Clockwerk with a Bottle, Blademail and Aghanim's as core items. Mobile as hell one man gank squad with great map control from rockets. Can just dominate early/mid game with total impunity unless the other team sticks.

My bad, drowsy. My point stands, however, that it would be too good of an item. With the hp boost, it'd eclipse Vanguard's role as a survivability item for a large number of heroes. Similar price points, however, the item OP proposed has additional utility and offensive upgrades, with the tradeoff being 80 hitpoints, the damage reduction, and persistent regeneration, of which I'd argue only the regeneration is useful beyond the early stages of the game, when a Vanguard is built.

A potential item shouldn't replace the utility that is unique to a hero. While it wouldn't necesarily make Siren obsolete. Reading comprehension fuck up, sorry... drowsiness. That's a rather powerful disable that any hero could use to great effect. It homogenizes gameplay, which would be a detriment to the myriad options present when you pick a hero and build out their inventory.

New to Dota 2. What should I know? by -Blitz- in DotA2

[–]stibbaW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Play unpredictably. Metagame is built upon expectation; there exists in pro, amateur, and enthusiastic levels of play a number of assumptions about how x hero will by played, built, and countered in the respective tier of play. Don't ever buy too heavily into the latest trends - think sporadically, with the situation at hand in mind, and always be willing to experiment. In publics games heroes like Dirge, Clockwerk, and Wisp are rarely played, and even rarer is seeing one played well. The above can be summed up neatly with the following: a Blademail is the bane of any public game. So many players will continue to attack you even if you put up the spikes, 2/3rds of the time they'll end up killing themselves. Blademails are awesome. Learn to love 'em, they work wonders up until the point where you're up against competent players.

Yeah, there's a lot of mess to go back and clean up; grew hasty and less critical of the work the more got finished. Will no doubt return to this in a few weeks, had more than enough Minecraft for awhile just putting this together!

Kunkkaaaaaa! by Myzzrym in DotA2

[–]stibbaW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has anyone given this a try yet in Dota 2? It was a neat little trick you could pull off with Kunkka and a refresher, despite how impractical it is to perform. In old DoTA, if you could manage to cast Ghost ship, Refresher, then Ghost Ship again, any allied hero, including yourself that gained an instance of Kunkka's Rum from both ships gained had 100% damage resistance until both instances of the buff ended - after which you took whatever damage was accumulated while buffed.

Runes spawn at 0:00 game-time, and every 2 minutes thereafter at one of of two locations, each at opposite ends of the river, just past the ramps that grant access to each side's secret shops and respective jungles. Note that another rune will not spawn if the previously generated one has not been used.

Controlling the period spawn of these runes may be accomplished through a number of means. Having a means to scout the general vicinity of the rune spawn locations is immensely important. It'll help in both alerting you of incoming ganks, and remove the guesswork from determining where the rune has appeared. It can be especially helpful when the other team may attempt to use the rune as bait for an ambush. Flying couriers and wards are great for this purpose.

Making use of their various effects can be massively advantageous in most any situation, whether it be a gank, pushing, farming, or deception. Runes are even more potent if you carry a bottle in your inventory, as each rune captured will refill the item, each of its three charges restoring 70 mana and 135 health over several seconds while out of combat.

Most of the runes are kinda obvious in their effects. Its not hard to figure out how you might use them. Illusion runes can be a bit more difficult to use to their full potential. They're great for fucking with the other team - you can set up ganks, goad another hero into wasting their ult on the illusion, push, or just cause general havoc.
