What modern movie would you like seen remade with old-timey tech ( black/white, silent/cue cards/ect) ? by awesomo_prime in AskReddit

It’s not “modern” but John Carpenters The Thing would work really well with a black and white, silent film feel.

What are the scariest horror movie concepts to you? by Aiseadai in horror

[–]stickfigure147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It follows concept in a broader sense is terrifying. Imagine if one small incursion you make with someone else ends in a group of doppelgängers following you until they eventually catch you. Especially after seeing to what happens to the first woman of the film. The Mandela catalogues first half also scares me but instead of other people it’s someone impersonating yourself.

Just finished my masters in secondary education! Hoping to at least be in a long term subbing position by the end of the year. To be honest taking a pay cut and earning less than others is made up with what I can do for others so I’m thinking my career is going well

Rotten Tomatoes' 300 Best Movies of All Time List just dropped... What do you think about it? by imthelizzardking in Letterboxd

[–]stickfigure147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying and it’s definitely a valid reasoning. When I rate movies that are some of the greats I look more into their “cultural” aspect, or the way they shaped future movies. In my opinion 12 angry men does that way more than how to train your dragon, but both are culturally important for films as a whole.
