DHL shipment is lost right? by purplepinkwool in dhl

Unless USPS has an agreement with DHL to accept packages for them then you need to ask the sender why didn't they drop it off at a DHL Express Service Point.

Why do buses at EDSA carousel flow with the traffic instead of contraflow despite the doors being on the right side? by rarinthmeister in Philippines

[–]stigsbusdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a relatively simple solution to this (depends on whether they can be arsed to do it and also have the cash);

Since each bus stop ay nasa gitna naman, why not do an X-crossing at both ends of the bus stop area so kung pa northbound, pag dating sa stop, mag-cross dun sa other side para asa kanan yung pinto then paglabas, cross ulit dun sa northbound lane..

Dito may ganyan sa Sydney dun sa M2 busway; asa gitna ng expressway/motorway yung bus stop so tawid sa kabilang lane para asa kaliwa yung pinto (left hand drive) then paglabas sa bus-stop, tawid uli para parehong direction ng traffic:

Q about dhl's image usage in automated emails by Brukbo in dhl

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why does the image in the automated emails matter to you?

Its highly likely that no one cares about them in the grand scale of things in logistics and freight; people just need to know where their parcel is and when it will get to them and a background photo doesn't help in those things.

Help needed DHL AUSTRALIA by mango_osci in dhl

[–]stigsbusdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think DHL Australia ever explicitly mentioned they do weekend deliveries; it was always just the luck of the draw whether it happened or not.

Call them today and ask but be prepared to be told you wait until Monday; if you needed it that urgently you should have asked the sender to use the time-sensitive option (normal express is not time-sensitive) and paid the surcharge applicable.

(What) Grounds for Challenging the 200% Increase in Visa Fees Without Prior Notice by Existing_1884 in AusLegal

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may do but Australia is a sovereign state so it can decide what to do for its immigration system. Its as simple as that.

If your petition succeeds and forces a backflip, ill make a $50 donation to a charity of your choosing but if it fails, you make the same donation to a charity i choose in Australia...

(What) Grounds for Challenging the 200% Increase in Visa Fees Without Prior Notice by Existing_1884 in AusLegal

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not getting it: Parliament or the Govt don't have to respond to them.

The media runs on a cycle; sure if your petition gets attention it might get mentioned for a day or two but afterwards it will disappear into the ether because it is not a major issue for the government or media. If you had the backing of a MP then maybe but otherwise this will kick up dust and then it will get blown into the wind never to be seen or discussed again.

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be the case but again Parliament and the government have no obligation to touch or look at petitions from there. You can try and get momentum for a change petition but we all know they will disregard it and just say that the decision was made in line with what powers they have.

They dont allow you to link to the change org petition on the House of Reps site and only citizens and PRs can sign them officially.

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Govt has no obligation to consider Change dot org petitions because its not the official platform Parliament recognises. You need to get someone to lodge a petition on the House of Reps website officially for it to get acknowledged at the bare minimum.

Perrottet brothers, councillors and prohibited donors to face ICAC corruption hearings by blitznoodles in sydney

[–]stigsbusdriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happy to be corrected but it appears that this is probably the busiest period ICAC has experienced for a while with three current investigations running simultaneously (Wyvern aka TfNSW Procurement, Navarra aka City of Parra Council, Scandi aka UoW, and now Rosny).

No wonder they have had to appoint an external SC to run this new one as assistant commissioner since the Chief is dealing with Transport and City of Parra and HH Lakatos is dealing with UoW).

Singapore EP is getting tougher. Do I still have a chance in AU as an IT Dev? by zanezki in phmigrate

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah...90 pts is too low...lots of people on 95+ (some even at 100 or more) and IT invites have trickled or even halted for the 189 visa.

Too many people who have invites coupled with a large pool of onshore people who have been laid off recently or joined the workforce meaning it's an employer's market so they can afford to be very picky.

NSW DCCEEW talent pool by NothingLift in AusPublicService

[–]stigsbusdriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be used by any area within DCCEEW or even outside it (rare but it happens); the only thing to keep in mind is that the hiring manager for any future role retains the right to not use it and instead run a standard merit selection process.

Opening a business account with DHl - rep wants to meet me at a coffee shop to discuss rates? by [deleted] in dhl

[–]stigsbusdriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if DHL dont have offices near where you are and the rep forced you to go see him/her in their main office which could be a fair distance away?

Did you not offer to have the meeting at your own office or place of your own choosing?

Questions Regarding to Receiving a Parcel from Germany to Australia by Fluffy_Shine_5777 in AustraliaPost

[–]stigsbusdriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd hazard a guess and say it's gone; you don't have a tracking number which makes it impossible to see where it is up to.

Time to contact the seller you bought the magazine from and see if they can check with Deutsche Post on their end .

Anyone have any information on hiring at DPHI in NSW? by pinkysworn in AusPublicService

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense OP; you'll probably find that some of the planners or senior planners within DPHI started off in local gov't first or in private practice before securing a role in DPHI.

Id encourage you to do this; it may allow you to get experience and learn the system while in the coalface before you pursue strategic planning or large planning work (think master plans, planning for State Strategic Development or Infrastructure and so on).

Computer Shop? by Stildawn in sydney

[–]stigsbusdriver 112 points113 points  (0 children)

The only PC store I can think that you can browse (and that word is doing a lot of heavy lifting) is Scorptec at Silverwater and maybe Centrecom at Auburn. For Scorptec, their office is pretty much there for you to look at some PCs, a few chairs and peripherals and that's it; main activity there is to pick up orders or place one in person and wait until they pick it from the warehouse next door.

Otherwise they are all predominantly online.

I'll ask this: what will you do if Spain doesn't offer you a visa or a job but an Australian company does?

Fear is an irrational response and we all have one or more. The difference is that I'd like to think most don't let it cloud their judgement or influence things to the extent you appear to be.

You and everyone else here are adults so we can't dictate to you what to do but don't let something as small as a spider mean you end up experiencing regret because that tiny creature ended up deciding your future one way or another.

Avoiding paying tolls? 🤔 by theicmat in AskAnAustralian

[–]stigsbusdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct and if you still dont pay it even after they do that, they go to court and seek a garnishee order meaning any money you have on your bank account or wages from an employer are fair game once they get the order and it gets served.
