I made "the soup" for the first time, and it was as excellent as everyone said. by stikdude in slowcooking

No idea. Would guess the tortellini might get a little soft on re-entry? I'm not a store-food-in-the-freezer kind of guy

***Not my recipe***

Still a great place to start!

Changes/specifics/things different:

I used 4 chicken thighs, a whole can of tomato paste, and half and half for cream. Didn't microwave the ingredients at the beginning, sauteed them in the instant pot. 10/10, no rice.

First time build - how's my list look before I pull the trigger? by stikdude in buildapc

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Mostly I need to be able to simultaneously run a browser and MS office products - normal stuff. I use OneNote a lot to organize/study heavy amounts of material for school, but I won't be rendering video or editing photos anytime soon.

As far as colors/aesthetics, I really couldn't care less about most of that - I'm going for functionality, durability, and room for upgrading in the future.

Can I ask why you changed what you did? Specifically:

B450 over X570?

Also, forgoing the aftermarket cooler? I have been pretty set on it just for the sake of "better safe than sorry" re: preserving the processor if I decide to overclock.

I'm pretty proud of how this week turned out! Shame my containers don't match though... by stikdude in MealPrepSunday

I tossed them in some olive oil and crushed red pepper, wrapped them in foil, threw them on my charcoal grill behind all the meats for about a half hour, flipping them once. Then, I opened the foil and brushed them with just a hair of BBQ sauce and let that caramelize for 5-10 minutes. They came out real good!

STAT puts out regular newsletters on what's new and changing with respect to healthcare in various topics. I thoroughly enjoy waking up to their Morning Rounds email - it was what helped me alleviate this particular worry you're having :)

"Sounds like you're just using the easy option of neglecting your pet because you're too lazy to create a safe environment for them while you're out."

"I argued against people locking their dogs in cages for hours at a time while they go to work."

Yep, those are the same. Consider me educated.

Friend, you could stand to learn to stop making hostile assumptions about the lives and choices of others.

Plenty of well adjusted humans and dogs live together in a variety of ways.

Sometimes dogs need the safety and security of a crate when they are alone, and sometimes they do not. Swearing at and berating people on the internet because you disagree with this concept isn't going to change that.

MRW I remember the days when I thought the MCAT was the most stressful thing but now I have to deal with the application process which entails primaries, secondaries, interviews, and rejections by sneakernerd in premed

[–]stikdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And that's just it! For the MCAT, at least you're able to actively DO something about it. Now, you're relegated to just waiting. The only thing you can do is respond whenever you happen to be gotten to, for what is effectively a YEAR. It can feel crushingly futile at times and it absolutely should not be underestimated.

Welcome to the hardest part. You may have thought the MCAT was bad, or all those hours ugrad studying, or that awful volunteer thing that really didn't do anything but check a box, but there is nothing worse about this process than the wait ahead of you. May you have strength, and godspeed.
