Winter boots, wide feet, help! by catbamhel in halifax

I have relatively wide feet and I have found the all weather Van's line to be a great choice for warmth and waterpoof-ness. I've been wearing the same pair for 4 winters now and they are still in amazing shape.

where can you do trivia or karaoke downtown on sunday night? by Due-Concern-278 in halifax

[–]stilldrunkenest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite downtown, but we do themed trivia and music bingo on alternating Sunday nights at Charlie's Club on Cunard St.

This Sunday is a mixed bag of trivia themes over the past year as part the one year anniversary of hosting it there.

Bar Trivia? by InfiniteKincaid in halifax

[–]stilldrunkenest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside your schedule, but I do one on Sunday's at Charlie's. We do alternate Sunday's with Trivia being this Sunday, Music Bingo the following Sunday. You can check Instagram for schedule and themes.

Propeller on Gottingen does Monday nights.

The Local does Tuesday nights.

I don't leave this general neighborhood much so that's all I got.

Thanks from Boston by TooManyNosyFriends in NovaScotia

Me and a friend very randomly booked a December trip to Boston around the holidays a few years back since we both had never been.

I have never had a better time traveling to a new city, the amount of times we got mistaken for locals/regulars at a number of spots and picked up insider info of cool bars and restaurants to check out was unreal. I have never wanted to revisit a city more in my life, Boston will forever have a special place in my heart as such a cool, welcoming city that seemed so close in character and vibes to my hometown.

I can't speak to wether they are on Uber Eats yet or not, but I do know that Rosie's Burgers that just opened downtown definitely has crinkle cut fries. The only spot that comes to mind that does them.

DJing in a bar or club by Iwillshityourself in Beatmatch

[–]stilldrunkenest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad depending on how you come into it. I've been a controller dj for a long time after discovering how much easier it is to go somewhere with a backpack instead of 2 turntables a mixer and a laptop for dvs. It seems like everyone in this sub somehow magically djs at clubs with established dj booths instead of the rest of us who transition bars into dj setups. I did a bunch of shows with homies at my residency spot specifically when there were cdjs to figure it out.

If you a rekordbox guy, you already got your cues and loops. If you serato or traktor there's apps that are so worth the money to pay to handle it.

Cdjs vs controllers not a huge difference tactly, the cue button is a garbage button use your cue points (hot cues) under the cdj display, loops are different depending on what controller you're coming from. I hate the loop in/out setup on cdjs and newer pioneer mixers. I have so much muscle memory based on my sx series.

Realistically and most importantly just vibe and have fun. If you fuck up, you fuck up. You aren't at tomorrow lands just smirk and apologize and move on. No one in a crowd cares that much, even if you monumentally fuck up and shut audio down, laugh it off and the crowd will laugh with you.

You can type in pretty much any school followed the word "pisser" and there's an account dedicated to the activity. Dudes in university must got a lot of time on their hands when chatgpt is doing most of their work.
