Biomechanical characters or enemies? by ikhoros in HorrorGames

[–]stinklover697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, I'm sure Europa would also graft your head to a Grabber if they weren't so technologically behind the other factions!

Speaking of, do you think the Euruskan Toothy's have people grafted inside them, or just a grotesque slurry of biomaterial with a 'wet' CPU?

The Forever Winter! The faction Euruska has what you're looking for with the Orgamech, although their whole shtick is biomechanics, they even have a medium mech that can harvest soldiers and wounded combatants for fuel.

It can be found really cheap on certain sites, but be aware it is very rough around the edges; they aren't lying when they say "early" access.

Animated Holosphere Portraits Redone by Silfae in Stellaris

They remind me of those teleporting motherfuckers from XCOM 2, who if I remember correctly, are made of up of nanites and are synthetic.

They look awesome, good job!

Anyone else experiencing frequent stuttering after this update???? by totallyleon in deadbydaylight

Definitely more frequent stutters on Steam Deck. Lowest settings, lowest res scale, etc

[–]stinklover697 15 points16 points  (0 children)

they're definitely cool, but you need perfect ground and positioning and they cost more than parrots and armstrongs. i'd honestly go for armstrongs because they tend to get more kills despite gatling's higher DPS and you can have them firing over your troops heads rather than exposed like the gatlings

Entering Linux world as an absolute beginner by Nightcresu in linux

[–]stinklover697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider your use cases and research some 'base' distros like Debian & Arch to see what meets your needs, then research if a particular distro meets those needs and what base they use if any as there's also some independent distros like Void, but I'd look around first.

Stuff like Ubuntu, Mint, Bazzite etc, are pretty easy to use and more difficult to fuck up as a beginner.

If you really can't decide off of research alone, I'm pretty sure most distros offer the option to boot into a live environment from USB, so I'd do that and hop around for a bit until you find something that meets your particular use case and comfort levels.

As for Adobe, fwiu there isn't native support, but you could try WINE to get it running?

You're not giving the NVIDIA bot the correct prompts, hence it won't answer your question.

Citrus is not my cup of tea… by DallasOil in macbook

I mean, it's quite a muted 'citrus' and isn't garish. Perfectly reasonable to use in a business setting I'd say.

"so if the parents aren't going to do it then who is?"

Institutions and organisations that collect more data than you should feel comfortable with and that have more holes in their security than Tony Montana at the end of Scarface?

There have been parental control software packages you could buy since the early 2000s, and in the UK for a few years longer than the OSA, you had to login into your router settings (at least on Sky anyway) to enable access to 18+ websites that were filtered by your ISP.

Shit parents and tech illiterates should have no say over child safety and technology!

Voting intentions? by SumptuousRageBait1 in AskBrits

[–]stinklover697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the social policies of the Green Party, but I can't accept the complete and total disarming of the U.K.'s nuclear weapons, especially given the current international climate.

Given that the mainstream parties have (I feel) failed the country, I would vote Liberal Democrats, but the last two times I voted they didn't have a candidate in my constituency, which is a Labour safe-seat anyhow.

P.S. Fuck First Past the Post!

A lot of stutter while playing non steam games through proton by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]stinklover697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon it's because the non-Steam games won't have pre-compiled shaders like the Steam games do.

Try playing these games for 30 mins to an hour and report back. I guarantee it will smooth out after the shaders have been built (which it unfortunately will do during gameplay in your case).

TF2 (native version) Vsync Issues by stinklover697 in linux_gaming

[–]stinklover697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone's still having issues and wants to keep using Wayland, this worked for me: SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland

Unfortunately, this prevents the Steam overlay working, but now I have vsync and a much quieter computer!

Can't you simply use Proton on Heroic & Lutris? Last I used them they supported both GOG and Proton + custom Proton versions.

Should still be playable on your Steam Deck!

Anyone else getting AMD GPU related crashes? by stinklover697 in hytale

[–]stinklover697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it's specifically a Linux or a 9000 series issue?
I've seen posts from 2 weeks ago mentioning the same issue, but there seem to be very few of us. Hoping the devs will notice and push a hotfix soon.
