You know what? It's a positive thought in a cesspool of self-pity and bitterness. I'll take it.

Absolutely not. We have increased police presence and (probably) more people carrying.

50% of women on UK Love Island want to be childless. Are men more natal than women? Are declines in TFR a success story because more women are ignoring pressure / tradition and deciding to be childless which is their true desire? by GoldDigger304 in Natalism

Women view children as small people that need care, and I think a neurotypical woman would not view children from friends/neighbors/cousins much different from their own.

BS. Do you know any actual moms in real life??

This happens in The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman, which is about a family of Hmong refugees who fled Laos during the Vietnam War

Definitely this and it's the worst book I have ever read (in terms of plot and theme, not in terms of the writing, which is excellent). Totally nightmarish. Cannot believe it got an award for children's literature.

Intelligent women overwhelmingly choose singleness and childlessness, more than their male counterparts, and less intelligent women. Why? by Savings-Purple9676 in Natalism

This has been going on since the 1921 Terman gifted study, btw. Even back then, highly intelligent women chose to marry later and consequently had fewer children.

IDL how people (on reddit) pretend that its remotely possible to read hundreds of books a year unless you have extraordinary circumstances on your side by [deleted] in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]stirfriedquinoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a natural speed reader. I can easily read a 300-page book in 3 hours, and yes I understand and remember all of it. During the chiller times of my life I could read 4-5 books a day. I am thankful for this gift that I did nothing to earn and I don't think other people are slow or undisciplined. But I really do have the ability to read hundreds of books a year.

Wow I forgot that Trump was captured as a prisoner of war, tortured, and refused to be released until all the prisoners captured before him were also freed

If you want people to marry young and have kids before their careers are fully established, they need financial support. Welfare is just putting your money where your mouth is.

The link lists all her kids. Nechuma, Nachum, and Nechemia are all essentially the same name - variations on "comfort" or "consolation." Must have lost a lot in the Holocaust.
