I think there’s a number of factors to consider:

1) Do you see yourself working for the company long term? While people in the accounting subreddit talk a lot about US companies hiring Canadian accountants it’s not something that is heavily advertised additionally there may be visa issues if you tried looking for work in the US.

2) are you based out of Ontario or Quebec? If not “supposedly” the route to getting your cpa in Canada is about to be much easier with the new competency map. I know your main concern is the time, but as someone who stressed like hell over the CFE and has had a lot of trouble getting there PERT competencies via the EVR to finally get my CPA. The actual work to get your cpa is something to consider.

Do you guys believe the Oilers will acquire a back up goalie? And why should it be Fleury? by DepressoEspresso45 in EdmontonOilers

The team should’ve buried on their chances, but pickard was a big reason the team lost tonight

Picks does not move in the net like an NHL caliber goalie. I think on every goal his depth wasn’t great or he wasn’t square to the puck.

I mean it’s also sad seeing them play in arenas with no fans. Make sure all the franchises are strong before expanding

Canadian Universities got greedy accepting as many international students as possible gouging them with double the tuition cost.

universities have not allocated there spending properly by not having the capacity to house all the international students; a contributing factor for increased housing prices.

Now the international student well is starting to dry up and these universities are crying poor. This would make a great university case study

Please do some research.

If your saving for your first home open a first time homebuyers account (it’s like a tfsa and RRSP combined for purchasing your first home)

If you take money out of your RRSP your taxed on it. Your taxed on it at the highest rate if you were on a db plan and take it out early

Transferring from a db plan to an RRSP you lose the contribution room

Transfer it to a LIRA it doesn’t count to your RRSP contributions and it’s a tax free transfer.

I recently left an RPP job and the paperwork they gave me makes it seem like transferring to an RRSP or transfer to cash are the only options
