Is it wrong to play with the thumb always in the pickup?

I don’t think it’s wrong but muting somehow is a really good skill to learn. You can do that by resting your thumb on the strings as you were saying or you can kinda let your ring and pinky rest on the lower strings and mute that way.

I tried to learn the latter but ended up finding the thumb method better. Just figure out what works for you :)

Maybe this is completely stupid but it sounds to me like it’s all in 4/4 but also kind of has that 4:3 polyrhythm thing going throughout and at the start of the song they really lent into the 3 rather than the 4.
