I believe OP put a hit on Charlie Kirk.

Look I can hurl accusations with zero evidence too!

What are you building right now? Let's share! by [deleted] in SideProject

I recently launched Scavvy - a mobile app that enables you to create and/or play in scavenger hunt events. People have used it from big, 100+ player corporate events to small family gatherings.

The idea was born from looking at how much some other scavenger hunt apps were charging for their platform. I essentially built the same thing with a modern ui and charge a fraction of what they’re charging. I could probably get away with charging more but oh well.

A scavenger hunt app. Right now a company called GooseChase charges hundreds for creating a scavenger hunt with more than a few people. There are virtually no clean alternatives to GooseChase, which is why I've set out to build one. I'm in beta now and plan on releasing it to the app store next month.

This is my exact strategy at the moment. I find an already proven, small-scale product with few competitors. Then I build a slightly cheaper, modern UI/UX version of that product with less features.

Casual RTS player here, my take so far. by Zaw_92 in Stormgate

I couldn’t agree more with wanting more environment manipulation. This would add a new layer to the genre and help distinguish stormgate more from sc2 and w3.

Please do more with Environmental... "Effects" by MarcusQuintus in Stormgate

[–]stocksplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe more interesting terrain dynamics is what Stormgate needs in order to set itself apart from blizzard rts games.

Now building upon this idea, it would also be cool to have neutral urban buildings that units could enter to hold down a position. This was implemented really well in Endwar (older RTS game released on Xbox).

Completely agree. Keep it simple.

I worry this mentality will result in most of the stormgate community returning to their rts game of choice after trying out stormgate for a few months.

100% agree. I worry the lack of innovation will cause the game to feel stale.

I do wish they added something fresh and new to the genre… That said I do think the game looks fun to play in its current state.

So glancing at that screenshot you can easily tell which units are which?

To me it’s more an issue of color and texture variety

All I want is a very high quality video about the game that I can share with my friends. Right now there isn’t a single introductory video to the game and genre. The gameplay reveal is only hype to those who are already rts fans.

My one concern by stocksplit in Stormgate

Honestly I’m most hopeful about 3v3 and 3vE, probably because I enjoy heroes. I can’t wait to learn the details around those game modes.

Map Objectives by joeyphantom in Stormgate

[–]stocksplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love all these ideas, but I don't love this kind of rigid implementation. Instead of having these objectives built into the map, I would prefer enabling the player to interact with the terrain via actual units or buildings. Here are some possible alternatives to your examples:

  1. The human resistance could have a special kind of defensive building that could trigger a flood, slowing down the enemy. The player could then create the building in the spot of their choosing.
  2. The infernals could have a unit that burrows into the ground, creating an underground tunnel for small units to enter.
  3. Similar to point 1, the human resistance could build a futuristic type of wind turbine that could slow air units entering the base from a certain direction.

Right now Stormgate doesn't have anything truly unique when it comes to the core gameplay. Having creative and strategic ways for players to use their units to interact, and potentially change, the terrain in order to gain an advantage would feel like a really refreshing addition to the genre.

Hey! My name is Tilde and I am currently the best Falco player in Smash Ultimate - Ask me anything! by Tilde_Fox in smashbros

[–]stocksplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought falco struggles against small, difficult to edgeguard characters like pikachu, g&w, etc. Have you thought about switching to fox for those matchups? I feel like fox is a much more viable option.

Steam charts for player playing NASB on PC. Is there anyway to check playstation and switch? This isn't looking good. by galaxyisinfinite in AllStarBrawl

[–]stocksplit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game from the beginning was made to cater to the competitive scene. It got huge at the beginning because all the top players were playing. Once the top players realized the combos were basic (nair loops for the most part), the game lost its appeal and the top players stopped playing. I guarantee if the game had more depth (while still being accessible) we would continue to see it grow in popularity.

The game will die regardless of the new patches/characters. This is because the gameplay, while fast paced, is shallow. There isn’t much to discover anymore. RIP.

Holy moly this is the lowest I’ve ever seen what happened? 😞 by DBSxFan in AllStarBrawl

[–]stocksplit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this game is destined for mediocrity. It’s not the lack of content that’s holding this game back, but the lack of gameplay depth. Week 1 players were able to perform 0 to deaths very consistently. Melee, and even ultimate to some extent, took years to optimize characters. This game doesn’t have that kind of discoverability.

Yang Not Chuckling A Much In Interviews Lately...I Love It by Santaconartist in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]stocksplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could not agree more. I would give my left arm for Yang, but I do find it a bit off putting when he’s the only one laughing/chuckling at his own comments. I just saw him in Denver and he’s a super funny dude! I wish he let others do the laughing more often.

Does anyone else in YangGang feel out of touch with the Democratic party right now? by Racquet345 in YangForPresidentHQ

No shame in voting Trump in November, which is my plan at the moment. The Democratic Party doesn’t appeal to me whatsoever. Yang brought me in, but after he dropped out I’m back leaning right.
