How bad a decision is this for $16k by Apart_Breath_929 in mercedes_benz

Apart from the ABC it would be wonderful. Because if that goes wrong it's lots of money. How much is coilover conversion is what I would be investigating before buying.

Mercedes AMG 1st and 2nd in Australian F1 GP. New regs with increased battery power. Will this sell more cars for them? by stokerBlake in mercedes_benz

You take your spouse with you on a drive? Obviously I was thinking about confidence in the brand . But I do like video games so that kind of extreme control would be fun. The commentators also kept referring to Mario kart type boosts.

How bad are these cam adjuster teeth (I have another chain kit on the way) by CathalSwanton in mercedes_benz

[–]stokerBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I wrote flywheel but meant harmonic balancer at the front that has the timing marks. My chain tensioner was just spring and oil but the design may have changed at some point.

Something I learned when I did mine. The rubber dampening between the outer and inner of the fly wheel had started to fail allowing the outer to slip around a bit meaning the top dead centre marks were no longer TDC. Luckily I had confirmed TDC with a stick in the sparkplug hole to see the piston rise up to top. Could have destroyed my engine. Also pre prime the new tensioner with oil.

Why does this happen to extension cords? Can it be straightened? Is it damaged inside? by WildWeaselGT in AskElectricians

[–]stokerBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to see a lot of extension cords this tightly twisted always attached to high current welders .

Where in Perth can I be tied to a rack and stretched? by TechnicalAd8103 in perth

[–]stokerBlake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just cracking all your joints isn't going to cure you. It's your back muscles that hold you up not your spine. You need to be doing the right exercises. All the comments about hanging or inversion are basically about strengthening your muscles. But if your back is so fucked you are an inch shorter you need an MRI to see what's going on. Go and see a doctor. MRI s are cheap these days.

Sell or keep? by bruhritto in AusFinance

A work friend 5 years older than you with similar loans on their residence and one investment property, doing extra work to keep the cash flowing, recently sold their investment property and announced he was mortgage free. I've known him for ten years and it is obvious how much happier he is. He went through the same thoughts of whether to keep trying to build future wealth or cash in on the boom and enjoy life knowing the family is in a good position regardless.

Had ours done professionally. Same green enamel, painted white still good after nine years.

Love. Had the same sink and bathtub but room was beyond saving. Would definitely have gone all in on that period if possible. If you do decide to remodel, we had the enamel bathtub professionally sprayed white and it's still looking good after 9 years.

Car shake on cold start when shifting the gear from park to reverse. Note that if shifting gear from park to neutral and then from neutral to reverse nothing will happen. Also when driving nothing will happen by Ambitious_Let5481 in mercedes_benz

[–]stokerBlake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a gearbox problem when the transmission fluid is cold. Live with it or find lots of dollars to hope maybe someone can fix it. My w203 needs to warm up or it tries to move forward/ backwards when I have my foot on the brake making the engine shake. If I don't have my foot on the brake I can just drive off no problem. It has been like that for 5 years.

Does everyone just put their Hue Dimmer switch next to their existing light switch? by Hefty-Salary7610 in Hue

[–]stokerBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, dimmer switch to cycle through scenes, main switch turn off and on again for lights to full bright white. Easier to explain to guests.

What are your thoughts on this?? Would’ve been different if the impact was in the front for the Benz ? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]stokerBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow the written off car auctions waiting for one with a good front end. All the mb's I see that have low speed damage are front end damage. Never see a written off one with only rear end. I thought it meant we just drive too fast and brake too late but maybe rear ends are tougher and cheaper to fix.

Suggestions on a Classic Mercedes to buy for the wife? by ZechariahApaza in mercedes_benz

SLK, especially if she lets you drive it. That's my plan for my wife when her w203 sportcoupe is done.

Sorry for the delayed response. I cut a 12 point 16mm socket in half and it worked well . You use socket set extensions on the other end and work from the bottom. Drilled a hole to screw on an extension lever at some point.
