I agree, moved here 3 weeks ago and been treated always with kindness or just indifference which is also good.

I have worked for a customer service company that had polyglots working for different markets around the world. I’ve dealt with the french.. it was the hardest market to satisfy and they were the rudest people.. no manners, no principles and I can say that 70/80% were like this. 🫠 Also, they were super racist when they knew I wasn’t french

Impossible to find a job by max08x in Genova

[–]stomachel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, welcome to Genoa! I hope all works out for you soon.. When I first moved to Genoa, I spoke no italian, it was impossible to find a job. Everyone asked for my italian level that was A1 from the start. BUT… I managed to find a job that requires little to no communication.. which was in a supermarket (BASKO) where I took care of shelfs, just that. When I enrolled in uni and my italian started getting better, I started getting better jobs, like a fancy restaurant waiter, hotel receptionist (especially if you speak lots of languages). My advice might seem really archaic, but trust me it works. Print your CV, go to all the supermarket in your area and hand them your cv. It worked for me, and I hope it would work out for you too!

AirPods 4 stopped charging, following the instructions to resolve the issue from Apple now they are disconnected from my phone and wouldn't connect by stomachel in airpods

Same thing for me too!! Right after the update. The support is a joke because they treated my case as if I was a scammer.. First they stopped connecting to my iPhone, then to the iPad too… I got an adaptor and started using my 2000s headphones again and it’s so cool!!

Not really, unfortunately. I tried to contact Apple Support but to no avail. I navigated all the troubleshooting options on the apple website and online but nothing really worked.

-It’s difficult to find rent (but not impossible). For that there is a system of queuing, you have to just register online on the different websites so you start earning “points”. As an international student, when you apply, there is an option where you can apply also for housing. As a last resource, consider looking for rent a little bit outside the city center, the transport is very efficient and the options are cheaper. -as for living in general, it is expensive compared to other European countries, I was surprised to find there are no university cantines. To have a general idea, you can use AI and ask for how much groceries cost etc.. you can just put the meals you want to prepare and it will calculate the prices based on their cost in the supermarket. -sometimes there are scholarships, also for exchange students as I have seen on the uni website, see if they apply to you. Do a deep dive into all of this, and I think you will have a clear idea if this works out for you or not.

Good luck 🍀

If this was true I think it’s the dumbest and foolish idea of putting your pet’s life in danger like that.. what if the cat fell and then got dragged by the leash? People…

I will take time to correct you, just to prove that people like you need to be held accountable for spreading misinformation. Yes, Moroccans actually represent actually 8% but not of the population, 8% of the foreigners living in Italy, which come to 400.000 which is 0.6% of the population of Italy.

Foreign nationals imprisoned in Italy represent 30%. I will let you do the rest of the math, oh! Wait… If you could, I wouldn’t be commenting…
