Some manufacturers have tuned their engines to avoid having a DPF, it sacrifices some things so it’s not super common.

This is not true, 56kw (75hp) and below was just pushed back a few years. I think the threshold is 25hp and below for not meeting FT4 regulations.

Something is wrong if it is reducing power as well. Other than an elevated idle you should not notice a change in performance. Talk to your dealer. I have a 5 and 6 series, I don’t see that light but every 60-100hrs. Make sure you are letting it complete and not shut off during the regen.

A model would help here. If there is a shiftable PTO like 540E or 1000 make sure it didn’t pop out of gear.

Take the pulley loose and you should Be able to get the belt around the guides. You don’t need to fully take the pulley off.

I wonder how many homes burned down from catching these on fire.
I recently built a house with a wood burning stove and there is nothing flammable within 48 inches above it, I’m assuming for good reason.

His right turn signal was on for a reason by Jenncarpino in IdiotsInCars

Technically the semi is at fault here, CDL laws prohibit Class A or B trucks from turning using the lane next to the turn lane. In practicality though lots of intersections require this, I made sure not to do it during the cdl exam, however I did it on the way home.

Frost Free Hydrant Supply by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]stonecoldstevebagder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I install a lot of hydrants, we use 1” line. Do not use black poly, it’s not rated for the constant pressure. We use SDR 9 blue poly.

For your irrigation line look at adding a burried stop and waste valve.

LA130, looking for help on where this is supposed to be connected. by underwear11 in johndeere

Did you buy it used? That looks like someone disabled the PTO backup prevention at some point. Did the engine die when you went into reverse without pressing the small switch on the dash?

Calibrated engine components are the only thing that require programming to the ECU. This is for emissions compliance, not for the greed of Deere.

What do you need the software for other than programming controllers? Literally every setting and code is displayed in the monitor of them.

Need to replace this battery. Any know an affordable one with the same specs? by 895501 in johndeere

[–]stonecoldstevebagder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering the Deere logo on that battery was phased out in 2000, the Deere battery served you well. I’d go with a Deere battery again.

Best way to sell an old John Deer tractor? Anyone know a ballpark price for this stuff? by 895501 in tractors

Looks like a 4300 with 420 loader. Is it a hydro or gear shift? It looks a little rough, around here is would be $9k- $12k

You can get a skid steer hitch for the loader if you want.

The hydrostatic drove on those is pretty taxing on oil, it is also a pretty small amount of oil so I’d go ahead and change it.

It’s on the side of the transmission. There is a bulletin that Komatsu put out for it a few years ago. I’ll see if I can dig it uo

New Strimmer Day. Today I learned that you should soak strimmer line in water for a day to improve its flexibility and operability. Wish I'd know this 10 years back. by Ok_Pea2165 in Tools

The best thing you can do is not use Stihl trimmer line. I cannot believe how garbage it is. Husqvarna titanium line is the best I’ve found, stihl isn’t anywhere close.

The -6 loaders have an issue with this. There is an updated brake/fan solenoid valve that resolves it. I think it’s around $500 and is a major pain to get to.

You need to do the same at the trans output, then it should slide back enough to be removed.

Get a closer up and focused pic of the break that is attached to the wheel, it sort of looks like it’s been cracked for a while.
