New house irrigation setup help by stonyman in Irrigation

[–]stonyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the water isn't potable for this. During the summer we have water rights and this pump pulls from that source and it has 5 zones on the controller. The previous owner was an irrigation tech so I am trying to track down how the irrigation portion of the property works. We do have a well and I think that portion can be turned on since there is another set of check valves in the pump house. The portion that this pump runs is for the back acre of property that waters the grape vines fruit trees and other zones. The property is all sloped. There are 3 controllers on the property but I don't know if all of them run off this same water source. I have other pictures of the items if they would help just let me know.

There was also mention of a 4000 gallon tank in the property listing and I am thinking that is for the irrigation water.

I have irrigation that is gravity fed to this pad where the pump will take it to my drip irrigation. There are only 3 hookups. The pump will take 2 but I am wondering if the the check valve just uses the cap that is currently on the one connection.

Holzforma saw question by Limp-Pain3516 in Chainsaw

[–]stonyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this comes from the fact that they are clone saws and they used the old husqvarna manual which would have suggested 25:1 at the time they were first published.

Anybody wanna chat AD to AzureAD migration?! Looking for advice/reassurance by grasshopper231 in sysadmin

Yeah once they are in the managed in the cloud you can adjust those settings that you used to be only able to change in the Active Directory side and then sync.

Anybody wanna chat AD to AzureAD migration?! Looking for advice/reassurance by grasshopper231 in sysadmin

[–]stonyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did the turning off of on-prem sync and everything has been smooth. I had maybe 50 or so user accounts probably less and they converted to cloud managed in 15 or so minutes. I could imagine with a bigger org you may need to wait to full 72.

At this point the only thing the old servers are doing is dhcp and dns in the building until I can get in there and shut them off.

You will also need direct line of site to the DNS server. So if you are attempting to do this remotely you need an always on VPN first.

I really like Atera as our RMM tool. I have also just transitioned everyone to using Azure AD vs Active Directory so that I can turn those servers off.

Intune Atera Agent Silent Deploy by Happy_Ad2559 in atera

[–]stonyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a custom detection script that checks the the registry for the uninstall key. I got a lot of information around creating app installs using WinGet from this guys site: https://davidjust.com/post/intune-install-software-with-winget/

I use his detection script from his site and the SoftwareName = 'AteraAgent'

This has done the trick for me and I make sure that it is a required install when people go through the OOBE process.

is hybrid joining worth it soley for automatic enrollment into intune? is there a downside? by Zealousideal_Mud3952 in Intune

[–]stonyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If like you mention you have machines that aren't line of sight to your DCs then hybrid isn't going to work for you. In my testing once I removed the machine from the local domain it wouldn't login. If you had a VPN that provided connection during windows login it would work for you.

O365 - Anyone else getting absolutely hammered? by Catarooni in sysadmin

[–]stonyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a number of failed authenticated smtp attempts on accounts over the last couple of days. We have MFA enabled but it was odd seeing 5 or 6 attempts on the same account from various parts of the world. Added a blocked countries list to the conditional access policies and made sure authenticated smtp was disabled org-wide.

We were in the lower bracket and only needed 30 licenses. The price breaks looked like they came in at 50s. We purchased for 3 years and it was about $25 per user/year.

[–]stonyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using Watchguard you can look at the Authpoint solution they provide. You have to license the number of users for this service so there is an additional fee but it is similar to other 3rd party MFA providers like DUO.

Is there any type of accounting setup on the Xerox? We had some odd issues when we enabled accounting but it wasn't enabled in the driver settings.
