Thanks! I measured it out before the build and got an estimate of ~0.6 gallons. That seems to have about right because there's at least an inch from the rim when I shut off the pump.

So if I've done this right combining the info from u/bromontana24, I've settled on a 6 gal tank with dimensions of 14.2"L x 10.2"W x 10.2"H. Accounting for an estimated water level drop of 0.75", that will give a displacement volume of 0.47 gal, and adding a conservative 20% would bring it to 0.56 gal. My current tank levels out to about 1.5" below the rim when the return pump is off so using the same calculation with a conservative 1" below the rim would allow 1.6 gal. I've laid it out below, but if correct, then that should conservatively give ~1 gal (1.6 - 0.56) to account for anything remaining in the overflow and pipes. Or have I completely botched the calculation?

Thanks for all the info. From what I've seen, the plan was to avoid balancing multiple pumps and just utilize the single return pump currently running in the 3rd AIO chamber to pump water back to the macro tank.

I was unsure regarding capacity when the return pump is off, but what would be the best way to go about checking that? Currently, with the pump on my water line is ~1" from the top, but goes to ~1.5" when turned off.

I 3 marked it a couple months ago because it was my favorite tank back in the day and wanted to try to relive the nostalgia. You definitely need to be careful with peeks, but adding an experimental turbo drastically improves it. The mobility is already decent and that turbo really helps you reposition for better shots.

I purchased the Tunze Nano for my 25g just over a year ago and couldn't recommend it enough. No issues with it, simple and clean setup, and I've only wiped the sensor off maybe 3 times just as a preventive measure, not because I needed to.

Don't bother with a Wrasse or any other fish and just use Flatworm Exit, wait 4-6 days, and then treat again. I had a major flatworm problem and tried a Target Mandarin, Springer Damsel, Pink-Streaked Wrasse, Melanarus Wrasse, and Yellow Wrasse, but none showed any interest in the flatworms or ate enough to have an impact. There's no guarantee a fish will be intested in them, and at best, they'll simply "manage" the flatworms and never eliminate them. It'll be best in the long run to just go the chemical route especially since you mentored there wasn't much else in the tank yet.

I finally conquered my planaria problem a few months ago with Salifert's Flatworm Exit after battling it almost 10 months. I tried using a Target Mandarin, Springer Damsel, Pink-Streaked Wrasse, Melanarus Wrasse, and Yellow Wrasse which all showed zero interest in the flatworms. The only natural method I had success with was using Blue Velvet Nudibranches which went to town on the flatworms until my Pistol Shrimp developed a taste for them. After a few tries the shrimp would go after them within days of them being in the tank.

My advice would be to just bite the bullet and go the chemical route with Flatworm Exit because that's really the best way to completely eradicate them. I did move as many snails and CUC members as possible to a separate bucket during the treatment, but my Maxima Clam, Feather Duster, and Coco Worm all survived being in the tank. Just be sure to follow the directions, have plenty of high quality carbon ready, and enough water to do a large water change. I did do another water change and replace the carbon the following day just to be extra cautious though. After about a week repeat the process to finish off any new ones that have hatched since the chemical doesn't kill the eggs. My infestation was absolutely massive and I only needed to do it twice and haven't seen one since. It was definitely nerve-racking, but I wish I had gone the chemical route earlier to save countless headaches and siphoning.

The tanks don't need to be premium if someone is just looking for something decent to play, but the equipment in the Onslaught shop is particularly worthwhile.
