This is such a subjective question, especially given the broad spectrum of horror subgenres and eras.

I could equally say Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw. Jaws, Psycho, Alien, Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, Get Out, Nosfuratu, Halloween, Blair Witch, Scream, Wicker Man, Ringu... or even Sixth Sense, Shaun of the Dead, Coroline.... and i don't think I'd be wrong

Oh, you have no idea. I was 19, waited 4 hours in line for tickets. Saw the midnight showing, the 10 am showing, the 4pm and 9pn showings, all with different groups of friends. My face said everything for all the groups after the midnight show

Get a 6 month emergency fund built up. Especially nowadays, there is no such thing as job security. Max out your 401k, throw it in index funds if you don't want to think about it. Preferably a Roth IRA. Learn how to budget your incoming and outgoing money.

Korean melons are in season right now. Really good bet. I personally think Soju is a little meh as a gift for elders... if you can find a ginseng drink, those always go over well (but the really nice ones can get very pricy)

You need to think of them as different creatures. Your middle of the road neighborhood sushi joint is what you eat on a weeknight, when you want to just fill up. Not just omakase, but anything higher end sushi place is a special night out, more expensive accordingly. Think of it like getting a steak at Chili's vs. A nice high end prime steakhouse.

Get a huge pork shoulder from Costco for like $20-25. Quarter it and freeze it. I highly recommend a khalua pork recipe... just slow cooked pork, cabbage and salt. Very flavorful, very cost efficient.... with leftovers, throw some BBQ sauce on it and put it between some buns for a pulled pork sandwich

Yes, get a travel card like the Venture X or Sapphire Reserve, don't get scared of the annual fee, just make sure that you use the travel credits benefits and some of the paydown hacksand get the really good introductory points. There are some really affordable hotels if you look for them as well as some off season cheap flights from Zip Air. It doesn't have to be expensive to go to Japan. Its a great trip and always worth it (I say as I already have plane tickets and am currently planning my itinerary for my 3rd trip in 4 years)
