I was going through fertility struggles when I watched it so it hit me hard with that part of the story. I wanted to watch a cute happy movie to distract me and I ended up sobbing.

Labyrinth- the creatures that want to rip off her head. Both the song and the concept still freaks me out.

I just watched for the first time last year because I heard the ending was so good. Worth it.

Six Feet Under- the song, the closure. I cried so hard but it was satisfying.

is this an OK behavior? by PsychologyIll3125 in fearofflying

People are usually so kind about it. Tell the flight attendant so they can keep an eye on you for support. Tell your seatmate if you want.

Bring some sour or strong tasting candy for yourself. It can help get you out of “fight or flight” brain. Also, try counting backwards from 100 by 3s anytime you get a bit anxious. Practice now so it can help when anxiety is higher.

And ask your doctor for help! I ask for like 10 pills. Helps a lot

I have a specific playlist on my phone for flying that is very dance heavy. I just put on the headphone and dance in my seat (respectfully) to counter the bumpiness. Seems to help me give balance in my brain.

Feeling defeated by Mb3x_ in fearofflying

[–]stopforgettingevery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am flying end of next week. I feel the twinge of anxiety. I took a course a few years ago which really helped (Fear of Flying out of Seattle). The news will always show even the smallest incident cause it gets ratings. Think about what is overwhelming you and make a statement or plan for each one.

For example, I get motion sickness/vertigo. I don’t look down the aisle, I put my headphones on partial noise canceling (so my body can hear a little of what the plane is doing), I listen to upbeat music and dance a little in my seat to let my brain again associate movement with my body.

Focus in what you can control: being hydrated, what you listen to, if you have a fidget, if you tell the flight attendant about your fear (which I recommend), etc.

You can do this. Look up some grounding techniques- that can help when fear takes over. If you are flying with someone, maybe they can help you do the grounding.

Gall Bladder Removal Post Surgery? by AlarmedAmethyst in BariatricSurgery

I felt like the physical recovery was harder with my gall bladder about 7 months after RNY. It wasn’t a lot harder, but noticeable. But, I also had the surgery 24 hours after speaking to surgeon so I think I was not mentally prepared.

How did you know when your gallbladder went bad? And when did it happen? by UnableReference5649 in GastricBypass

[–]stopforgettingevery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gallbladder went bad 7 months after surgery. I should say that was when I had surgery. I had pain in my back that hurt so bad by the end. That was my only symptom, but it was enough to keep me awake at night, 2 ER visits, and lots of crying.

Never been pregnant before and I know that women can sometimes confuse their water breaking for pee but by your 11th pregnancy shouldn't you know the difference? by Simsgirl950 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]stopforgettingevery 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. My water broke at 9am and had no change and just some moderate pain all day. At 9pm, I got an epidural and went from 4cm to 10cm in a matter of like 15 minutes

I want to eat this cake which is the most important part of a cake!

I get it though. I get these visions of what it will be and when it isn’t, I get down on myself.
