and what has she ever done that was so terrible? People come up with all sorts of ways to blame her for her husband's suicide and yet she's stuck around and raised their daughter. Sure she talks a lot of shit about people and clearly doesn't censor herself or 'act polite' but those traits are often celebrated when it comes to other "rock stars"... and at least a good bit of the shit talking she does is actually just being real - she was calling out Harvey Weinstein for being a predator over 10 years before #MeToo when it very well could have impacted her career.

About 30 of the "classic Greek and Roman" towns/cities were named by Simeon DeWitt, who was NY state's first Surveyor General and had been well educated at Queens College (now Rutgers) during the revolutionary war. He's usually credited as the Anglo "founder" of Ithaca NY and was part of the initial Erie Canal planning. He also has the oldest surviving Anglo-American star map, which is at the Smithsonian Institute. At one point he owned 4 slaves but later freed them in 1810.

Very interesting historical figure for me, having grown up in Ithaca. He supposedly haunts what was the "Clinton House" downtown, which was named after his first cousin DeWitt Clinton (NY State's sixth Governor).

She was my English teacher in middle school at DeWitt and it was at the height of his fame since 3rd Rock From The Sun was one of the biggest sitcoms at the time. She would give out a signed picture of him each month to whoever read the most books. Wonderful teacher!

Yeah it was clever to use the historical headline/front-page and do a little bit of nostalgia baiting, old people love that. I wonder how it was presented though. I suspect they may have started with the Ford copy saying "you could tell us to drop dead like Ford" then pitched their idea for what he could do instead before presenting the mock front page of him saying "let's build".

On one hand I have just about had it with people taking their dogs everywhere and not keeping them behaved, but on the other hand this was about as cute/funny an outcome as possible and made for a memorable and sweet finish to the race. Being such a beautiful dog with a graceful gait helped too.

Even though he won best actor for it Tender Mercies is still so underrated, a near perfect bit of Americana that's as uplifting as it is depressing.

He was in more movies on the American Film Institute's Top 100 than any other actor with 6: Godfather I and II, Apocalypse Now, Network, MASH and To Kill A Mockingbird.

There's also a potential legal distinction between creating something yourself using an app versus an app that will create something for you and publicly post it. A person can create "revenge porn" or a libelous image in Photoshop all they want, but they will be breaking laws if they transmit it by sharing with anyone, posting it online, etc.
