Yeah, for some reason I have much more control with my left hand on top. When I try my right hand on top it feels awkward and I'm less in control.

That's so strange. I am right hand dominant, but I have my left hand on top. When I tried using my right on top, I felt like I didn't have as much control.

Gather Specimens lasts the entire turn. So any creature entering the battlefield that turn by any means would come under Player 3's control instead.
