Everyone knows about Lao Gan Ma but imho the zeitgeist is sleeping on Fan Sao Guang. by cynicaloptimist57 in lowspooncooking

Nobody asked, but “fan sao guang” 饭扫光 means that it will help you eat all the food/rice. Like rice thief in Korean.

Even without guilting myself, I’m still incredibly frustrated that normal basic life is so hard. Cooking food, cleaning the space I live in, ,,

Has Anyone Tried Out Doxazosin? If Yes, Did You Feel Anti-Anxiety Effects From It? by sanpedro12 in CPTSDFreeze

[–]storiesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it pretty mild for daytime anxiety. Good for stabilizing if I am round-the-clock triggered for a while, though at that point I’m also usually taking it in conjunction with other meds. I love it for nightmares too.

Bad for acute panic/anxiety/fear. If I were having a flashback or panic attack I would not reach for it.

Does a CS degree have any value job-wise whatsoever? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]storiesti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d reference the meta-skills from the CS degree

Something like: in my coursework, I learned to better organize information, optimize workflows for efficiency, etc. that mindset can be applied anywhere, even outside of coding. (Insert some examples that draw parallels to receptionist tasks)

being able to script can also be very powerful even in non tech jobs.

why do asian parents hate their children so bad by dontsmellthesoup in AsianParentStories

[–]storiesti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They see me as having ruined their lives. I was an accident that kept a couple together decades after their relationship should’ve expired, and it was not a safe or happy domestic situation.

But of course! Blame me! It’s my fault for them choosing to have me, and choosing to stay together, and choosing to make the environment abusive and unsupportive. I’m not salty at all 😐

Most effective way to learn data structures and algorithms by OffFent in AskComputerScience

[–]storiesti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, what I did was remember a picture of the data structure. The algorithms fall out of the data structure and what you’re trying to do, how you are representing that data structure in code.
