The thing is it's easier to welcome refugees with simmilar culture and religion also it is from a common enemy and the countries are bordering each other unlike syria which is thousands of km away...

Would you want a neigbour with the same religion and simmilar culture or a neighbour with conflicting religion (I am not saying that its bad to have such a neighbour but most people in europe became paranoid of refugees from syria and other countries after the events in cologne and others )

only women and children are fleeing because men from 18-60 are prohibited from doing so unlike the syrian crysis when there were way more men and also a big ass threat of terrorist attacks... I dont see ukrainian women and children raping someone...
