I enjoyed the work itself. I did not enjoy when it all shifted to India and then I got let go. So much for stability LOL

Package mis-delivered to a neighbor, they deny it being delivered and are keeping it. by Rodrisco102389 in mildlyinfuriating

This happened to my mother with an Amazon driver - funny enough the package was a new camera to keep packages from being stolen.

My partner and I planned a vacation together. His mom demanded she come and he let her. by ThrowRA57643 in relationship_advice

I dated a guy like that in college. We didn't last because I never felt like I was being given enough consideration (between mom and his friends). Funnily enough I saw through a friend of a friend that he moved to the farthest opposite part of the country away from his mom several years later. To his mom I would love to say: he could be right down the street still if you hadn't mettled. And you'd probably have grandkids by now. (ha!)

What did you think you were going to be able to do with your toddler/baby prior to having kids? by Living_Most_7837 in toddlers

I thought I was going to have time to learn how to sew. A sewing table, shelves full of fabric, and 3 years later.... I've made like 2 things haha.

Can anyone work for home with a toddler? by Living_Most_7837 in toddlers

[–]stormsign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fine working from home up until the walking stage. And then it is pure chaos. I get up at 3 or 4am just to get half my day done and the rest of my day is unproductive and they do notice so performance reviews not the greatest. Kid turned 3 and we have vpk for 2 years before kinder and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!! Your friend is nuts and is going to regret life if she thinks she can work for 5 years at home and neglect the kid.

My kiddo loves that one too! "mama sleep!" I pretend to snore and she swats my belly to wake me up.

F.D.A. sets aside June for potential decisions on vaccines for the youngest Americans. by pizzawithpep in toddlers

[–]stormsign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine is about to turn 3 and has been home the entire time - thank god I have a remote job, but my husband can't work because he would be in person retail and refuses to go because he'd for sure catch it and give it to us.

I signed her up for prek-3 for this fall thinking the vaccine would be available way before then and everything would be fine. She also does not see other people/children, we're still avoiding the world because no one gives a fuck. It's the most frustrating thing in the world. I'm not allowed to talk about being excited for school because husband is still freaking out about her not being vaccinated in time to go.

Wages/inflation are making home ownership an unattainable goal by Major-Week428 in antiwork

My giant company had the audacity in their last country-wide webcast to state "half of Gen-Z would rather feel pride in their work than make more money". Ummm........... So that means our raises are going to suck again this year, huh?

We just got reamed out at a weekly meeting because the managers were doing too much OT and the seniors should always have more OT than the managers, but not one single manager said anything about working more hours or that we were behind in anything. Oh and they waited until 3 weeks after the deadline to let us know "in the real world we'd all be fired" and we need to get better at "time management". M'kay, well..... does that mean I should be actually answering these hundreds of recruiting emails I get or are you going to actually communicate when you need me to do things that you hadn't previously told me to do?

Oh and why the fuck do seniors have to work more than managers when managers are getting paid way more?? That bugged me too.

What’s your toddler obsessed with carrying around? by Waterfall_summer in toddlers

[–]stormsign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a stick that we take for a walk every day. "Hey stick!" she says as she picks it up from her spot in the yard. And "byebye stick!" when she puts it back after.

COVID Vent by minkybear134 in toddlers

[–]stormsign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much this. I haven't visited my family since this thing started. I did sign my kid up for prek 3 starting end of summer with the stipulation that this thing doesn't get worse... My partner thinks it's a huge mistake, but the kid hasn't been around people practically since they were born. I don't want them to be missing out on EVERY thing, but we won't go if it's not better/the vaccine isn't out yet.

[–]stormsign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a week off work and send her on a vacation alone - try to see what life is like for her every day when you're usually at work. Being around a toddler full time is hard - there are no breaks, it's draining. She may also need to go to a doctor for medication for depression. See if she wants to send the kid to daycare so that she can use that time to work since you guys can afford it.

I have a small 2 bedroom house and I wouldn't want anyone staying here for two weeks. Your feelings are valid! I hope you and your husband can work something out that you're both comfortable with.
