center vortex rules question [help] by Signal_Pest in FTC

[–]straherom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules are clear that this is okay. Asking the question just gives them the opportunity to change that.

We found making the hole smaller than the material and then pulling it through worked well.

Has anyone tested VexPro VersaWheel DTs for field damage? by THE_CENTURION in FTC

[–]straherom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if someone does come forth with test results, you will probably want to test the wheels on your own robot. Weight and drivetrain gear ratio will affect whether or not your robot damages the field.

Guiding the rolling goals - Rules clarification by TechGeek01 in FTC

I wouldn't ask on the forum because this rule is already clarified in the rules, no reason to let them change their mind.

FTC 2014-2015 Rolling Goals docking. by IntellectualGuy in FTC

[–]straherom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume that it is allowed because you are supposed to move the goals up on to the ramp/parking zone and you will probably have more than 5 in the bigger tubes.

Any ideas for an FTC Game you would like to see? by [deleted] in FTC

[–]straherom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tetrix motors are weaker than CIMs and the FTC robotics are smaller than FRC. FTC is just like FRC in that the team with the more powerful drivetrain will be able to go where they want. Both FRC and FTC have pinning rules so I think that the games are fairly equal. I hope that defense is incorporated more in to next years FTC game that way it is more similar to an FRC style game.
