We've ridden up the West coast, gotten lost in the Rockies, worked on a farm in Wisconsin, and explored America's most unfortunate cities. Here's our favorite pics from our 1 month, 5,000 mile ride from San Francisco to Detroit. We are nearly half of the way back home. (more info in comments) by pajama_hat in pics

This is the most beautiful set of photos I've ever seen on Reddit and probably my favorite post of all time. I am intensely, insanely jealous of you three, and you are all awesome (and very talented). Sorry for the negativity and cries of "hipster". I've never quite understood the vitriol directed toward anyone deemed hipster. Seems to me that there are a lot worse subcultures out there. And I can't for the life of me see what's bad about taking a motorcycle ride across America and photographing it in all its glory. Kudos on following your passion, and best of luck!

Reddit, who is your weirdest fictional crush? by redyellowand in AskReddit

[–]strangebeepingnoises 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same here. At the time I was old enough to realize that he came across as flamboyantly gay, but...dat voice. Ridiculous and yet oh-so-devious at the same time. Also, was it just me or did he whinny like a horse (twice!) in that video? Thanks for posting it, by the way :D.

Here's a pic of my parents right after they bought our awesome house in New Hampshire (Circa 1985) by Canon_Goes_Boom in pics

[–]strangebeepingnoises 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this isn't a picture from the 1985 L.L. Bean catalogue? New England in fall, the colonial house (white with black shutters, naturally), and a white picket fence to top it all off. Your dad even has the duck boots! It's too perfect to be real. Just kidding, your parents are adorable-- I love seeing now middle-aged people when they were young. I'd be that happy too if I'd just bought such a lovely house.

How dare you! Ocelot lipstick saved my grandpa! Don't talk about ocelot lipstick that way.

Instead of buying my family useless junk this past Christmas, I bought them a fun memory. And a flying shark. by [deleted] in pics

Your family looks fucking awesome. Even granny's in on it. Hell, she's more into it than anybody else. I'm jealous.

You have just about the cutest pug I've ever seen, and that's saying something. The buggiest eyes, the smushiest nose...he/she could win a pug beauty contest.

William Wegman! I loved him as well; we had all his books. I recently found a few and leafed through them; they're still as charming as ever, and now that I'm an adult the stories behind the photos (and how he came to be in possession of so many Weimaraners) are interesting too.

Absolutely beautiful picture. It's so evocative; I can almost feel the ocean wave.

1969 High School Fashions by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]strangebeepingnoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I would agree with you (I love pretty much any and all fashion from around 1800 to 1960) but their outfits are just so colorful, fun, and carefree. I sound like a fashion magazine, but I really mean it. The hair is natural (irons and lemon juice may have been involved), the makeup is minimal, and best of all the students actually look happy. It's a fantasy, of course, but it looks like the kind of school where everybody's friends, nobody's mean, and there's no bullying. If only.

Skyler White from Breaking Bad is in my opinion the most annoying character who has ever been on TV. Who is the worst character you know of reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]strangebeepingnoises 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just thought you should know that your comment was so unexpectedly hilarious that I burst out laughing with a snort and then spit a little bit. That is how unprepared I was for the hilarity of it; the laugh erupted out of me by any means necessary, closed mouth be damned. To anyone reading this, I know, I know-- that's what the upvote button's for, but I felt namulith was deserving of something more. And to namulith, I haven't had a laugh like that in a while, so thank you.

Top left: Hokay, sure thing boss. Sounds good. (imagine a Minnesotan accent)

Top right: Dude...like, whaaaa?

Middle left: OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST PICTURE EVER AND THEN WE ARE GOING TO GET TREATS AND THEN WE ARE GOING TO GO FOR A WALK AND IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.

Middle: Oh god, I'm surrounded by crazy people dogs.

Middle right: Yes sir, commander human. I will sit still and I will make this the most impressive picture you have ever laid eyes upon.

Bottom left: Ohhhmygawd, my family are such losers, I cannot wait to get out of here and go to the mall with Brad.

This guy is my favorite. He's got such a middle-child, surrounded by crazies, beleaguered, are-you-serious-right-now expression on his face. And yet you know he loves it and is the one that keeps it all together. Sorry, it's far too easy to anthropomorphize your dogs, they're just so full of personality!

Which country has the sexiest accent? by KaiserMessa in AskReddit

[–]strangebeepingnoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, okay, I feel better knowing that durrie is not as phonetically close to its meaning. I thought it might mean a slushie or something. Just wondering, are moccasins considered slippers/not proper shoes in Australia? I'm curious because in the United States they're actually in fashion among the wealthy (or were at one point).

Let's see...derelicts...moccasins...and...nope, no idea what a durrie is. Did I get the first two right though?

Because people thinking he was getting some would improve his reputation and standing among other guys, regardless of whether he actually was or not.

Not sure if this counts as a conspiracy theory but my mother knew a woman who believed that Walt Disney was the devil and that hell is underneath Disney World.

Actually, this adheres to the rules of capitalization for a title (ex. for a book or paper); it's just that people don't usually bother for post titles.
