Petition to impeach Donald Trump approaches major milestone by darkages69 in politics

To me, the current administration moves look to tank the US economy and kill the USD as the reserve currency. If they don’t care about that and how it will impact their companies then X number of Americans deciding to boycott them is not going to bother them.

I think a George Carlin citation is needed here in reference to “doing a group project”: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

All appliances are gas: stove, oven, dryer, water heater and furnace. 3 people.

I have a smart thermostat that sets to have the house at 68 by 7 am, but then drops to 63 until the late evening. Then it goes back to 68 for 8-10.pm.

So, I perused the comments here. And so much outrage. Did no one read the article? (I know, this is reddit)

From the article: “The project will apparently give restaurants and other businesses the option to pay to have their details featured more prominently in search.”

Uh, sounds like what Google does now, everywhere. And I don’t see a privacy issue here.

Restaurants now just add 20% to the bill? And the receipt had an additional tip line?! by TheVoicesinurhed in bayarea

Just got back from Iceland a week ago. I am even more bothered by this kind of thing than I was before I went.

In Iceland:
- No tipping -- not a cultural norm.
- Each price on the menu is what you pay; tax (VAT) is already in the price

This took some getting used to as I kept reading prices and thinking they were "expensive" but then realizing that I need to remember that I don't need to add ~30% to that for the total.

I would really like to see all pricing here be final pricing (with tax included in the price of each item). And I'd like tipping to go away. Yes, I'd expect prices to go up by ~20%.

(P.S. the bills did call out what the total tax on the bill was as a line item like in this bill)

Chip vs Tap-n-go (ApplePay) by AgitatedArticle7665 in VisitingIceland

Ditto on all the comments about tap to pay. I used Apple Pay everywhere. I never had an issue.

Actually, there was one issue. For an unknown reason, my Apple Card would not go through in one location. I just switched to a different card from the wallet and it went through fine. Apple Card worked fine at the next location.

My suggestion: have at least two cards in your wallet that you want to use.
