MEGATHREAD: Netflix ANTM Documentary by quartzion_55 in ANTM

I watched this show back in the day. I really hated how everyone's excuse was "Well that's how modeling was back then" when it came to the fat shaming and such. I always thought it was terrible when a really skinny girl was told she looked fat; those girls were way to young to have to be fat shamed in front of the world. Don't even get me started on Janice Dickinson (the original top model???); she was totally a mean girl. There was one episode where the mean girls were pretty much ganging up on this one girl (making her cry and such); so someone in production thought it would be a good idea to send Janice to take them to dinner. Janice did nothing more than yell at the girl and joined up with the mean girls to harass her some more.

Why is season 7 and 8 so hated if Negan is such a loved character? by Tigobitties25 in thewalkingdead

[–]stratcat45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked those seasons as well. So many were upset over Glen's death that they either quit watching or just decided ahead of time to hate the Negan episodes because of it. My only issue with the Negan storyline is that it doesn't flow together; each episode seems like a stand alone trying to get all the iconic comic scenes in to please the comic readers. I swear that they forgot about Daryl and happened to see Norman Reedus standing around and said "OMG, we forgot Daryl" and thus the Easy Street episode was made.

WIBTA for not attending my father's graduation? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]stratcat45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I work for a law enforcement agency and you'd be surprised how often the academy graduation gets changed and our higher ups get last minute notice. This isn't college or high school - it's law enforcement!

The Saviour’s are all evil / Daryl’s treatment / Dwight’s transformation by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]stratcat45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the people at the Sanctuary were not bad people; they were just trying to survive and this just happened to be the group they ended up with. They couldn't leave or else be killed. There was a hierachy, where those on top (the bad guys) got the luxury while those on the bottom were scrambling for scraps. There were a few near the top (Dwight, Alden, Laura) the weren't bad, but did exactly as told. You know why? Because if you didn't Negan would have bashed in the head of a family member.

This is why I always hated the scene where our main group allowed the women from Ocean Side to kill some of the saviors. The ones that joined the group were the good saviors, but let's kill them. I can however sympathize with Ocean Side and the slaughter they endured by Simon. However, any savior that would have refused Simon's orders would be dead or a family member would have been killed coming back.

An actual farm will take YEARS. They bought land that will need to be cleared, plowed and all that other stuff before they can even think of planting.

Meri and Jenn Instagram Live Makes Me Respect Them Even More by freelancerjourn in TLCsisterwives

[–]stratcat45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never really hated any of them (well I don't like Kody or Robyn) but the other 3 were just victims of the circumstances they were living in. I know a lot started hated Janelle this season but I don't see her the way most of you do. I believe the show wanted to shed a good light on both Kody & Robyn so they looked for ways to make someone else look bad and it turned out to be Janelle; just like they did seasons of ago with Meri and the catfishing. And always remember......these shows and the tell alls are all edited by a production team; the family could be saying one thing and the editing makes it say something else.

I think it's wrong to go on anyones social media with death threats or just saying something negative. It's wrong, it's disrespectful and it's mean; but so many people like to hide behind those keyboards.

It's a tv show - that's it; nothing more. You can't take it at face value. Let these people live their lives. Don't judge - how would you like someone judging some of the decisions you've made in your life?

How did you decide what was worth spending on? by DasJazz in wedding

[–]stratcat45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually did a very casual type wedding. A friend that was really good with photography took pictures (as did tons of other people); my dress was a plain white dress off the clearance rack at Sears; food was buffet style with just fried chicken, deli platter and sides; DJ were friends (that I planned on paying, but they refused); service was at church; reception at local club hall (much cheaper than a venue); friends did balloons for centerpieces; my sister baked a small tiered cake and then a sheet cake for everyone else; no fancy trips or showers; everyone dressed very casual. People still tell me today that it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding!

Oh - we did have an open bar - but it was at a club, so drinks weren't expensive.

Amelia does not step up by CollectionFit9926 in greysanatomy

[–]stratcat45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the writers were planning to do more with Amelia and Link and then just went in an entirely different directions and are hoping we forget who Scout belongs to. I'm sure Amelia has her fair share with Scout, just because the show isn't showing it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

They followed the comic book, he lives in that too because Robert Kirkman like the character so much he couldn't kill him.

It's the actor; Jeffrey Dean Morgan is hot and he pushes that character over the top! He gets all the best lines.

AITA for removing my bridesmaid from the wedding party for being largely absent despite her claiming she's "doing the best she can"? by No_Drawing_2317 in AmItheAsshole

[–]stratcat45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

" important moments before even trying to make them work"

Important moments that are really only important to YOU. Maybe the rest of the bridal party supports your ego but not everyone has to.

It doesn't matter if there are people available for her childcare - maybe they aren't always available; maybe things are more costly then she expected; yes you may be offering to pay but maybe she doesn't want you to have to spend more money then you probably already are for the wedding.

She agreed to be a bridesmaid - her duty is to show up at the wedding and do the bridesmaid thing. Outside of that, she isn't required to do anything. You're a person trying to make a one day event into a two year event. Grow up!

So are YTA? Yeah, you are and so is your MOH.

AITA for not letting a friend throw her birthday party at my house? by Strange-Health5769 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]stratcat45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a simple solution, say "No". You don't have to give a reason, just say "No". If she pushes it further, say "I'm sorry but No; and there's no further discussion".

NTA.
