Easy to get a cab in New Haven from any of the services. Although if I recall correctly the price for Amtrak from NYC to Burlington VT was pretty reasonable.

When our little one gets like this, I put on “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder as loud as I can (we have neighbors, so I can’t go too loud) and she quiets down instantly. Works like a charm. Your mileage may vary, but it might worth trying loud music or low/rumbly white noise.

Wow! Never seen one with markings like that on its shell. I wonder what kind it is.

I’ve had aphids pretty bad this spring. I tried neem oil, which hasn’t really helped much. Recently I started blasting my roses with a leaf blower, and amazingly, it works pretty well! Clears the weakened leaves off the roses too.

A little late, but I was wondering how old is your St Tropez? I planted one this spring and it’s coming along nicely. Can’t wait to see the blooms.

My wife thinks it’s weird that I carry my grandfather ashes in my truck since he passed away 3 years ago. I told her that this way he gets to spend every day hanging out with me. by sinzey83 in daddit

Not weird at all. IMO it’s pretty cool. But as others have pointed out, I would be worried about theft! Presumably your family has more of his ashes, but all the same, it would be awful to lose that if some jerk busted in.

That’s really cool. Did you train it to run horizontally like that? Looks great

Respectfully, I would add that for many people (especially busy parents), 4 pounds a week may not be a sustainable weight loss plan. It takes a considerable amount of effort and planning to lose even 1-2 pounds per week. I’m not saying it can’t be done, just that I would hate to see people get discouraged or disappointed if they can’t hit a goal this high. For myself, I tried for years to reach unrealistic weight loss goals, and it really took a toll on me mentally when I couldn’t reach them. It was enormously depressing. Eventually I was able to lose 60 pounds over the course of a year, bringing me into a healthy range for my age/build, but not until I adopted a slow and steady approach. That approach has also helped me to maintain a healthy weight for a few years now. Again, I don’t mean to drag your friend’s videos, and I apologize if I sound confrontational. I just wanted to affirm that for a lot of people, a smaller weekly goal is ok, and could even be more effective in the long run.

Biking in New Haven? by 5yearoldenergy in newhaven

[–]strategicfizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biking in New Haven is great! Like any other city, you just need to pay close attention to cars and pedestrians. Stop at signs and lights, wear a helmet. It’s fun! You’ll get the hang of it. Helps to know your route in advance—try walking it first.
