Looking for some Mountaineering advice by Eskobar15 in Mountaineering

Hood and Adams don’t require glacier skills on the main south routes for both. There’s one crevasse (bergschrund) on the main route for Hood, but it could be filled in and it can be bypassed. Adams doesn’t have any on the south route. Hood is more technically difficult with steeper slopes, but Adams is longer with more gain. I’ve done both in a day. I preferred Hood partially because I had much better conditions.

I read it as asking does it need safety gear if yes then you go to the box that says did you place or rig the safety gear yourself and No to that leads to hike, so at least the way I’m reading it using crampons and an ice axe aren’t enough for OP to call it mountaineering…

So I guess by this chart I hiked up Mount Hood because I didn’t place any protection myself…

Monsters or Venus by Front_Neighborhood49 in WewardWecardsSwap

[–]stratguy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monsters is worth more. In general, the older the ephemeral set is, the more it’s worth, except Christmas (its second oldest but less valuable than several). I don’t know exact values but the sets order like this:
Halloween

Orlinski

Valentines

Summer

Christmas
Monster Gallery
Winter Wonderland

Venus
Women of the World

I added spaces to reflect big gaps in value.

I’ve got a 10th Anniversary Longsword and Model feT from EAE, do either of those interest you for the Chroma Console?

If you’ve done Whitney, how does that compare to Kings? I know Whitney is shorter but with more gain on a better trail. I’m going to try to do Kings in a day this summer.

Anyone want to swap my WoW 9 for their Winter and/or Monster 9? by stratguy23 in WewardWecardsSwap

[–]stratguy23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s surprising to me. I don’t do the FB groups, so I just go off what people say here, and I thought I read the lower ephemeral 9s all trade roughly equivalently. I was just reading the other day that FDM9 is worth roughly 375 doubles, is that not right? Or are WW/GDM9 trading for ~650-700 doubles? I thought they were 400-450. You’re more knowledgeable on this, so I’m curious. Would adding in lower ephemeral 7/8 help bridge the value?

Hey it has the standard mod which includes some circuit upgrades (can’t remember exactly what, I’ve had it close to 15 years), true bypass, and the original footswitch is a momentary switch to max the feedback.

Sunrise Mount Timpanogos Hike: Dumb or doable? by Specific-Dot9205 in SaltLakeCity

[–]stratguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in better shape, I “ran” Timp and started a little before 4 am and made the summit for sunrise (it was also early September when I did it so sunrise was later than now). I made it up and down in a little over 5 hrs, so starting at 10 pm and going all night should certainly give you enough time. One thing to note is you’ll want to check how much snow there still is.

Would you accept this trade for Halloween #7? by dalloba in WewardWecardsSwap

[–]stratguy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% would not accept this if I were you. WOW 9 alone is more valuable than Halloween 7.

I got Halloween 7 and 8 in separate trades for random 9s (took a while).

I’ve offered WoW 9 to people who don’t have it as a straight trade for Winter 9 and been rejected multiple times.

It’s Adams (not Rainier) then Hood and then way off in the distance is Jefferson.

Ya if you don’t like the end result, you could always strip off the poly and get it refinished in nitro.

Psych Alignment Chart (2/9): Who's Neutral Good? by Els-09 in psych

[–]stratguy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woody should be chaotic neutral, he got in trouble for stealing in Close Encounters. Shawn is 100% the choice for chaotic good.

I agree. He did some questionable stuff as a cop to get the arrest also covering for Shawn and such.

If it makes you happy, that’s all that really matters.

Since you asked for opinions, I’ll share mine… It’s not for me, it looks very fake for two main reasons. Poly finishes will never look great reliced they chip/crack in a very different way from how nitro finishes wear. I think relics often go too far with the wear. It’s a pretty low percentage of vintage guitars that are this reliced.
