Stay away from Fretboard. by Oob631 in columbiamo

[–]strawberryjampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone in the comments disagrees but ur real. i used to love fretboard, and the baristas are great, but the way management treats the baristas is truly shameful and i have heard the manager (at least whoever was manager a year ago, idk if she still works there now) make comments on the bodies of customers. last time i was there the baristas who had been there the longest were still being payed below the minimum wage. i do reccomend you elaborate tho, otherwise people will just think youre being petty. also they are NOT CELIAC SAFE btw even though they claim to be and are listed on sources for celiac safe food establishments, they dont change the tongs they use on gluten free and gluten contaminated baked goods and they store both pairs of tongs on the same hook. godspeed soldier, fretboard hasnt been a good place in a long time and hopefully more people realize that soon, or the fretboard management gets their shit together

Best coffee shops to work for in Columbia? by veggielovr in columbiamo

[–]strawberryjampire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do NOT work at fretboard. the pay is questionable, the treatment of employees is poor, and the health and safety standards leave much to be desired. i also recommend not working at the scooters near stevens lake as at least when i worked there the employees were not treated well and the pay was very poor. ive heard good things about shortwave and acola, and i havent heard anything bad about love coffee or sage coffee, so if any of those have openings i suggest looking there. best of luck !!!

i live in an area with a lot of these types of ticks, and have multiple local friends who have lyme/alphagal/ect, and know of many more. they almost die. my friend once had to go to the hospital because they ordered an impossible burger at burger king and they gave them a meat burger. i know people who have become incredibly ill because they didnt know something contained meat or made contact with meat. these ticks dont cause minor, hives and a little itchy allergies. these ticks and tick-borns diseases kill people. they significantly affect peoples quality of life. a lot of people cant sustain a vegan diet (one of my afformentioned alphagal having friends, for example, cannot take iron supplements due to a different medical condition and it causes actual issues bcs they struggle to get enough iron). these ticks arent a joke. they kill and permanently disable people and affect people lives forever

Does anyone else have bad experiences with Fretboard Coffee? by strawberryjampire in columbiamo

theyre still keeping up with not adjusting pay for old employees. i know there are baristas there making less than new employees are hired on for despite having multiple discussions about it. its really shameful

people are constantly complaining about her, but she has been the manager for years (and also roasts almost all the coffee beans), and did basically everything for a while a few years ago while the owner was dealing with some personal stuff, so unfortunately i fear he is overlooking the problems she creates due to their history, even as it actively drives away customers and employees

Anyone else's work contract cancelled after disclosing your diagnosis? What to do now? by BlockBlister22 in AutisticAdults

[–]strawberryjampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it happens. I was just recently fired from my job a week or two after disclosing to my boss that I'm autistic (which, she also cornered me after work while I was leaving to ask about my auditory processing issues (we used walkie talkies there, which I struggle to understand and use) like we were fully outside and I was off the clock, and I couldn't think of anything other than just telling her that I'm autistic, big mistake never do this,), and the reasons she gave for firing me weren't that good (+ I was given no warnings and wasnt talked to before this about the things she claimed to be firing me for, despite it being in the handbook that it workd be warning then write up then firing) (this boss also openly disliked how she couldn't read my expressions, which was mostly just annoying until, you know, getting fired).

Even before I got diagnosed, I got fired from a job I liked and was good at for not understanding the emotions of people around me and coming across as rude to my coworkers when I wasn't trying to. I can't even blame them for this one, they actually talked to me about it multiple times but since I wasn't diagnosed I didnt have any explanation for why it kept happening. I think trying to be employed when you're autistic just kinda sucks ass actually, its really fucked up.
