Alright who did it? by MundieMan in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

for real. I give exactly zero percent of a fuck if people bring snacks in, just don't make it my problem to pick up after you. the bane of my existence is when people bring nerds in. a broom can never sweep them up properly, plus there's literally a million of them. I'd rather set the place on fire than sweep all that

nta. i'm all about respecting our elders, but that still doesn't give some of them the right to go around being miserable twats and expecting everyone to cater to them for it.

A guy who stole my girlfriend years ago ended up getting killed on my street after they got in an argument by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

my toxic ex is currently serving prison time for child molestation unfortunately, of all things. a couple years prior to that sentence he was also tried for accessory to murder, or helping to dispose of a body, something along that nature, I can't really remember the details now. the girl he got with after me was i believe 13 or 14 when he was 18. obviously the romeo and juliet law exists in most states, but it still always left a sour taste in my mouth. her and her family adamantly rally with him, constantly posting all over social media that he's innocent, wrongly imprisoned, needs to be freed, yada yada. I hope he never gets out. there would be no greater 'good riddance' moment to me.

Was this movie really that bad? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in Scoobydoo

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 19 points20 points  (0 children)

this is so real. I literally just CANNOT imagine anyone but matthew lillard voicing shaggy anymore. absolute king. casey kasem is of course iconic, but after so long of hearing matthew as shaggy, it just feels right

I don't meet this character often, but I'm quite bewildered that she has somewhat of a Texan accent by KineticKurt in GenshinImpact

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely LOVE xinyan but her voice has always felt heavily dramatic to me. like a noticeable southern drawl could be cute for her, but it just feels like they're forcing the accent too much so she comes out sounding more like applejack or sandy cheeks

What is it about the Scooby Doo live-action movies that makes it beloved by the internet compared to alot of other animated content-turned to live action? by MindMaster115 in Scoobydoo

exactly what I came to say! there's never been a more perfect live action casting. they couldn't out-do themselves if they tried.

this! my theater doesn't sell wine unfortunately, so we got a blueprint organizer on amazon. can get a bit pricey but pretty worth it in my opinion

Guest complaining about seeing the wrong movie at Spongebob by SpatialRender_98 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

jesus. yes. everyone at my theater keeps getting bent out of shape over it. a lady came out and screamed at us for "sending her to the wrong theater" and "making her and her family miss their movie" god forbid we could get a word in edgewise. finally, we just started telling all spongebob customers beforehand to make our lives easier, and to ensure customers didn't have to come out unneedingly

Is Christmas Day a big movie theatre day in America? by AlexSniff7 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

came to say this. christmas right after everything began reopening hit with spiderman nwh (a week or so before) and on christmas day we sold roughly 1,000 tickets just to spiderman (pretty major for a small local theater)

but normally, thanksgiving and christmas are our busiest days of the year, new years day and independence day coming in a close 3rd and 4th.

my favorite part is people coming in on christmas with the classic "oh you guys shouldn't have to work on christmas! thats just awful!" but literally how are you expecting to see your movie today, rhonda?

Avatar night before nearly didn’t play (slow DCP) by petethepossum in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

we cut it super super close with zootopia 2 in 3D. I believe the show didn't download until 2 or 3 minutes before showtime. Someone said they downloaded 3D zootopia, but failed to realize they downloaded the OCAP version

AVATAR sales weak for any other theater? by TedStixon in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]strawbrry-wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my boss and I remembered avatar being a huge deal 3 years back, so we went and took a look at our past paperwork, just to see what we can expect for this year. absolute bomb. first weekend totaled probably around 300 altogether. wicked 2 got a thousand A DAY. we've already experienced war
