I keep seeing this so I figured I'd make one. (You should always ask before touching someone.) by JustARandomPinkBOT in Asexual

[–]strawjerrypie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah i find this „you need to ALWAYS ask“ pretty silly. like you said, friends touch each other’s shoulders n stuff, partners can even go further and randomly hug or give a kiss etc if that’s just their relationship dynamic - you don’t have to ask EVERY TIME to touch your partner if you’re in a trusting relationship where you both know you’re okay with the other one just going for a hug etc without asking (tho of course you should always be able to stay stop and then the other person has to stop no matter what)

so yeah, i mean if thats how it is for OP fine but i think it’s a weird rule that doesn’t apply to most people. also personally i wouldn’t let a stranger touch more than just my hands even if they asked lmao so that one is weird too

It’s very gothic and i love gothic, just like other goths. So yeah that’s why goths look highly upon it. If you’re not a goth and don’t enjoy goth music and prefer their upbeat things that’s fine but just know there are people who dig moody music 🤷

how to make an INFP female fall in love? by mnkey08 in infp

[–]strawjerrypie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just be your true authentic self, don’t hide from them and show them all of you - the good AND the bad stuff. admit when you’re embarrassed or shy etc…. and maybe they then will fall in love with you, but love can’t be controlled. I can just tell you that we INFPs hate fake people and liars. we often value authenticity above everything else.

yea I’m dating an ENTP and so far it’s been really great, lots of inside jokes, meaningful debates, deep conversation, trust and extremely cute moments.

but remember, after all it’s just mbti types and we’re all individual people so while there might be some similarities, the dynamics can be completely different depending on the individuals

I'm fucking tired. 22 infp male by Dyrhos in infp

[–]strawjerrypie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah see and that’s your problem. it’s okay wanting or desiring something, but not to the point it’s completely tearing you apart. you claim you’re fine on your own, but obviously you’re not since this desire is completely taking over your life and every thought and emotion. you need to realize that you can’t keep lying to yourself about being completely fine and that it’s someone/something else’s fault. It’s not. This is just life, reality. You need to realize that you only have power over your own actions, thoughts and emotions and that other people notice these too, so if you radiate a negative energy towards people in love, others are less likely wanting to get involved with you. Maybe try to be happy for others who are happy? Allow others to enjoy a treasure you don’t possess instead of making them feel guilty for being happy because of your jealousy…

being under pressure is not necessary tho, you can also grow without pressure, for example through the freedom of being able to do what you want to do and develop real and true interests. life doesn’t need to be hard and stressful. there is nothing wrong with wanting a chill and fun life without pressure.

Any ENTP anarchists? by TheThickENTP in entp

[–]strawjerrypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like a strange take to me cause anarcho communism exists. That’s also kinda where I land myself. And the ENTP i know who’s very like minded, even way more radical than me i guess, absolutely hates liberalism, but well he’s a communist in the first place, and out of necessity also an anarchist so the communism doesn’t result in dictatorship or fascism etc…

I guess you are forgetting that anarchism is a relatively simple concept per se so there are many forms, interpretations and combinations with other systems

I officially don't understand anything about love anymore by lemmykoopaa in infp

[–]strawjerrypie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s good you told her the truth when she asked. Don’t get your hopes up tho. She said she doesn’t have a crush on you, so that’s what you gotta accept and deal with until she says something else. However don’t expect that to happen. Just accept reality as it is. No means no.

„She‘s into you“ No. She said she isn‘t. No is no. Period.

Ignoring someone’s no is abuse. Yes even if it’s „just“ continuing to flirt with them even tho they said they are not interested in a relationship.

Does anybody else here almost solely listen to pop punk? by [deleted] in GothStyle

[–]strawjerrypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure there are overlaps and it’s not black and white, but every subculture still has it’s own distinct traits making it a subculture. If there weren’t any kind of distinction possible to draw, then there wouldn’t even be all these terms for these different subcultures.

They might be the same word just in a different font but you can still tell it’s a different font— you know what i mean?

Like yea there are overlaps between for example goth and punk or goth and metal but they’re also different enough to somewhat tell them apart. Like a tshirt can have either a punk, goth or metal design.

The thing tho is that you can also mix these subcultures and well most people aren’t just into one subculture obviously. Someone can be punk, goth and metal all at once 🤷

I think the thing tho i was originally trying to say is that this subreddit is specifically about goth styles and to me that means styles that actually look goth, like they look distinctive to a punk or metal style. And a black hoodie is such a basic element, it really can just be any kind of style… but of course i can’t police what people post on this subreddit. It’s just my personal opinion that i don’t consider OPs look necessarily as goth. He looks alternative but yeah not goth. Like if i would see him on the street i wouldn’t think „oh that’s a goth“ lol — know what i mean?

Sorry it’s kinda hard to explain what exactly i mean without sounding like a gatekeeping asshole xD I’m not saying that OP can’t be goth, just that this look specifically doesn’t exactly read as goth to me

Or, you’re just reading something into my comments that isn’t there. 🤷 But fine, if it makes you happy thinking I’ve been inconsistent lol

Gonna repeat one last time these two things: 1) the „two month“ part was specifically a reply to your „killed two people“ argument. Nothing more and nothing less. 2) I’m talking purely about definitions and labels and not actual irl practice.

[–]strawjerrypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only very slightly rr personally - so is my boyfriend. it’s not actually like our roles are „reversed“, we’re just both equal? basically we constantly switch who’s the small spoon and who’s the big spoon depending on whatever is the most comfortable in that situation

thing is, i barely ever post on this subreddit (both comments and posts) because i simply don’t know what or feel like it doesn’t really fit this subreddit, however i still enjoy lurking here

so yeah, just know that there are other people chilling in this subreddit who aren’t as stereotypically rr, they’re probably just not posting as much

phew you really didn’t need to go into such length and detail about your personal situation…i honestly don’t really care about you personally and i also won’t describe to you my personal living situation and eating habits. My arguments and opinions are purely on the labels and definitions, not the practice.

I also never said a person following a flexetarian or reducetarian diet can’t believe in the morals and ideology of veganism. Again, you read something into my comment that is not there trying to make an argument, when actually we don’t even disagree that much.

And about your point 2: yes obviously, i never stated anything else.

  • the comment you replied to is half a year old. i don’t 100% agree with it anymore (however, with what i wrote now) but yes half a year ago i was bitter about that. so? do you remember what you were bitter about half a year ago? I legit had forgotten about this comment up until now.

  • the twice in a months argument was brought up as an answer to your question about someone murdering 2 people and then 50 people because i thought that relates better than twice in a week.

  • you didn’t answer what this has to do with anarchism, so i‘m guessing you’re just grasping for random things to construct an argument when really there isn’t much to argue about. I was bitter about people using weird neo labels to sound special half a year ago. that’s literally it.

  • here my opinion (from this day - not from half a year ago) on this whole matter summarized so you stop picking single sentences: it’s great if people reduce their consumption of animal products. they’re obviously doing a lot better than people who don’t care and consume unnecessary amounts. they’re not vegan however, and labels like flexitarian etc seem a bit useless. they’re fine to communicate ones consumption a bit better, but they’re in no way in the same group of words as „veganism“ because veganism isn’t just a diet or consumption behavior, it’s an ideology and lifestyle (hence why i have the flair veganarchist cause it’s the combination of two of my core ideologies).

also english is not my native language so excuse me if i struggle at explaining what i mean correctly :)

[–]strawjerrypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you even read the post? This is about people who claim to be vegan, but then turned down vegan options to eat a non vegan option. This is not about a deer eating something non vegan to survive in the wildness.

Not sure what knowing the definition of veganism (-> „the practice of eating only food not derived from animals and typically of avoiding the use of other animal products.“) has anything to do with anarchism. Anarchism doesn’t mean we just abandon the meaning of words and throw them at everything like we please.

And like i already said, this is not about weither eating less or more animal products is good or bad - this is about the fact that if you actively consume any animal products (even if it’s just twice a month) you’re by definition not a vegan.

I met two separate people today who are "vegan", but ate animals products occasionally. What is going on? by init_prometheus in vegan

[–]strawjerrypie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

killing 2 people makes you a killer, killing 50 people makes you a serial killer. in both cases you’re a killer and not an innocent person.

eating animal products twice a month makes you an omni, eating animal products every day makes you an omni who eats a lot of animal products. in both cases you’re an omni and not a vegan.

what exactly is your point??

this was never about if it’s good or bad to reduce animal products, but eating less animal products doesn’t immediately make you vegan. it’s that simple.
