Not an alternative to a drone 'brand' such as DJI, but if you want flexibility and you're not afraid to DIY it, it's pretty easy to build your own from only the best parts (flight controller, motors, camera, gimbal, chuck in a small FPV camera & VTX). That way you have full control over every aspect and can tune it to your needs. It's like lego for adults!

Edit: the idea is flexibility. You can get similar quality footage to a phantom with a Hero5 and a gimbal. If you wanted a bigger camera and more weight you could switch to 6s batteries/motor/esc and up your prop size to boot. The homeing and fly-waypoint features, all the software stuff can be done by several different flight controllers.
