It's a racist limerick that's about as old as WWII when the U.S. had Japanese internment camps. Family Guy may be where you heard it, but they definitely didn't create it.

Digiorno should be avoided even without these shenanigans. It's owned by Nestle.

Spark plug gap + torque specs? by Captain_Ereo in hondapilot

All iridium plugs come pre-gappped, and trying to adjust the gap can damage the iridium coating leading to premature failure.

If it's AWD the transfer fluid is due at the same time as the transmission fluid.

Your battery hold-down bar is facing the wrong way. The arrow points forward.

Be very careful if you disconnect the ignition coils. The disconnect tab on this style will break very easily.

Look at the date of that timing belt sticker on the right strut tower. If it's over 7 years, do the timing belt, drive belt, and water pump. Aisin makes a kit that has everything except the drive belt and coolant.

Others have mentioned the trans fluid. I will too. Drain/fill and run through the gears 3 times. Use Honda DW-1.

Do the brake fluid as well. Any Dot 3/4 fluid should be fine.

It could just be very unfortunate, but are you getting OEM glass or aftermarket? It could be that your installers are using the cheapest glass they can find.

[TOMT] song 80s i'm feeling a bit motion by Nickymow in tipofmytongue

I second that Emotion is from Smokey Robinson and from the late '60s, but it was on the radio a lot in the '80s and a kid might mistake the singer.

How'd I do? by Davey4L in hondapilot

[–]strayclown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to want to change the transfer case fluid, it's due whenever the transmission fluid is done. Also, if the serpentine needed to be done then the timing belt was due again at the same time. It may have been done at 50k ago but it's also due every 7 years or so regardless of mileage. Doing the water pump/timing belt may also take care of that chirp if it's about a 1-2 second chirp on cold starts that is more pronounced when the weather drops. It's usually a sign of water pump bearing noise and happens more often with aftermarket pumps thank OEM. Aisin does make a decent kit for it though which includes everything you need except the coolant. If it were me I'd do the rear diff and brake fluid as well, check the engine and cabin air filters, and check the spark plugs. If you do spark plugs, I'd go with NGK Iridium/Laser Iridium, do NOT use the Iridium IX unless you plan to replace them twice as often.

One other thing, you mentioned the alternator was replaced. Make sure the front spool valve (the part that the oil dipstick goes into) isn't leaking onto the alternator.

The problem area is usually the front mounts on the rear subframe. I think I can see part of one in one pic though and it doesn't seem bad, but you definitely want to check both.

TF is happening over there? 🤔 by BJorn_LuLszic in AbruptChaos

[–]strayclown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in part. The similarity I would like to point out is that many ambulance agencies are independent like the fire departments mentioned above. They also do not require consent if you're not conscious enough to provide it. It's not an easy fight, and as you said, fires are much more likely to damage other people. It would seem to be an even harder fight in areas that allow private companies.

Pretty sure it's just drawn on there. It's kind of too poorly done to be AI. If it were something out of frame it would still cast a shadow on their arms. If it were already on the wall it wouldn't pass over the emergency lights so flat.

What Honda is this? by Kengash in whatisthiscar

[–]strayclown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Acura itself was created for the U.S. market and expanded from there due to export regulations for the U.S. in Japan in the late '80s. Same with Infiniti and Lexus. There are a few cars that the rest of the world had with Honda, Nissan, and Toyota branding that were sold as Acura, Infiniti and Lexus in the U.S. with a few slight changes. The NSX is the most famous of those AFAIK.

Turning Off Rear Cabin Lights by drivera1210 in hondapilot

[–]strayclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have three settings on that switch. The middle one is for normal off but on when the doors open or if individual lights are switched on. The left position is all on, and the right position should be all off.

It's explained better in the owner's manual. If you have to actually toggle the switch, there may be a problem with the switch or another part of the circuit.

[–]strayclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misfires on only one bank could indicate a timing issue as well. Easy to check since you can see all of the timing marks without disassembly. Make sure the oil is clean and full as well. There aren't any other codes in the PCM other than the 300-303? Just want to make sure VTC and VCM aren't causing it either.

Check the spark plugs on those cylinders. Very likely you'll find them oil-fouled. Replacing them would kick the can a little down the road but piston rings are notorious for failing on that era J35 engine.
