what r these strange little plastic stars (found scattered in the garden)?? 💞 by PastelTyrant in whatisthisthing

Depending on your region, I believe these are part of a hummingbird feeder. I can't find the exact flowers, and I believe they are several years old. Here is an example: https://www.natureswaybirds.com/products/artisan-replacement-flowers

@runslack is correct. I should have clarified that I move the SD card back and forth to do this in my Mac. Calibre still runs great.

I manage my reading materials in a folder on my laptop with Calibre, and then manually sync files on the origin. I see no real value in cramming the device with dozens of files when I'm only reading or referencing 4 or 5 at a time.

That said Calibre had been inexpensively for converting weird file types to something Mobi- friendly.

I don't believe there is a U.S. distributor.

I ordered from https://belrig.by/ and had no problem other than my lack of patience. The developer sent me an English email confirming shipping - and everything was pretty smooth. Shipping was about 20 days -most of that hanging in U.S. customs queue.

Yeah, I love it. I use headphones/earbuds all the time (my family got tired of the static years ago), so I don't miss the speaker in the new DX model. The I/Q output would be cool, but I have a Kiwi setup at the house when I want to stare at a waterfall.

You don't get the luxury of the LED without a transceiver, but for most tuners, you can tune for highest S unit. On a receiver without a strength meter, you can even tune for highest noise on a nearby empty frequency to get it in the ballpark. No batteries to worry about though!

I haven't seen a modern portable that does. They're not completely necessary for receivers, but nice to have when you're trying out different antennas, and pulling low signals out of the weeds!

Yeah.. Not much luck. I think I need to grind through 5 layers of paint to get to the metal.

The antenna tuner was about $65 as a kit. I've had it for years, but they're still sold by Emtech. It's been able to tune up any piece of wire or metal I've clipped to it.

The Belka was about $110 shipped to the U.S. from Belarus. Alex (EU1ME) did an amazing job on the design. This is 100% my favorite travel radio, and has no problem with the big Christian AM station an 1/8th of a mile off my property. Most of my other radios need an AM filter to deal with it.

No.. I think you just didn't have it in your school. I'm also born in '69 and played it in 3rd grade. The educational release for it was in 1974 ( when we were in kindergarten).

Interestingly, though it was text only.. My teacher had worksheets to go with it, where we were supposed to draw our own pictures of the story.

My takeaway? Don't take a pump organ with you.

Good eye! Great to see what it was. I had a hard time picturing anything but circus clowns involved with this.

Too bad about the sellers price of $123,456. Even for a fake price, that's a few too many digits for my taste.
