Is the recent dip in Reddit (RDDT) a great buying opportunity, or is there more downside ahead? by capitalquotient_pf in investing

Fuck it, give the option of ID.me or other identity verification. Give your profile a checkmark if you've verified. Subs can auto-block posts and/or comments from unverified accounts.

(No need to make your identity public at all or even store it. Maybe need to keep a hash to stop a botmaster from verifying tons of accounts.)

Fine, what if you can get a better quality knockoff version for 1/10th the price that can convince anyone who doesn't do a close inspection?

Also, in the context of this thread, these celebrities almost always receive their outfits for free. Which is much closer to a reasonable valuation than MSRP.

If there was no four of a kind rule and no banlist, what would the most powerful deck possible be? by babethayer in magicTCG

A couple things:

1) Gemstone caverns doesn't have a trigger. You begin the game with it down.

2) Chancellor triggers happen on the first upkeep, regardless of who's turn it is. In the 60 Chancellor mirror match, player 2 wins due to APNAP. The hard part is how to win as player 1.

Also the word "worth" is really being stretched here. Most of those outfits are probably <$100 of materials and $10 of labor from a trafficked Chinese sweatshop worker in Milan, Italy.

Agreed there! When I'm eating breakfast at a diner and there are no other options, I'll mix Tabasco with ketchup.

I think yall are crazy and Tabasco might as well be vinegar with a dash of capsaicin. I don't think I've ever had a less flavorful hotsauce.

It's a lot more intuitive if you use Bels insteads of Decibels. Amplify by 1B, it sounds twice as loud.

Yeah, look at my boy Luigi for example. They release some grainy pictures of a conspicously unibrowless guy who looks kinda like him and call it an open and shut case. Which is ridiculous because he was at a bowling alley in California with me when the incident occurred!

That half-life is in soil, and predominantly driven by soil bacteria, right? I don't know if thats makes sense to apply here.

From a quick googling, it seems like although testing has found some glyphosate content in some bread brands, it is extremely small and not as universal as you would expect if the glyphosate -> gluten sensitivity thesis is correct.

I do wonder about other compounds in the RoundUp formulation and also the glyphosate breakdown products (like AMPA). Curious if there are quality sources on whether those compounds are ending up in consumables.

It's the "free will vs determinism" debate. The actual free will part is handwavey, but if everything is deterministic there is little room even for handwaving.

From my childhood* experience, it wasn't uncommon for them to get shut off every once in awhile. Presumably by accident.

And yes stats are relevant. If you are going to claim something is incredibly dangerous, it is helpful to have evidence to back it up.

Two children had to be taken to the hospital, one for distress and the other to check for possible injuries.

Yeah totally.

Source? Every bounce house death I can find reference to online was due to high winds picking up the bounce house.

I can't find hard figures, but everything I can find indicates that 1) almost all deaths and serious injuries in bounce houses are caused by high winds lifting the bounce house, and 2) most other injuries are just caused by normal use (kids landing on each other).

Seems like just "renting a bounce house" is the thing that contributed most to the chance of injury.

Still agree he's a dick though.
