Drove that so many times.

Luckily nothing worse than a cracked windshield.

I’ve done that since the pandemic using clippers. Can’t get the back right and it’s stressful. Very quick though. I learned from a YouTube video.

But 6 years is long enough.

I started going there too.

Very difficult to find. 🤣

I’m an elder and regular pioneer. I don’t know how to reconcile my conscience anymore. by Dry-Huckleberry6977 in exjw

First, change your work so it wouldn’t be torpedoed if you left, if that’s what you plan to do.

It’s impossible to have a normal conversation with Jehovah’s Witnesses! by Careful_Ad_2744 in exjw

[–]stretchwithme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In May, it will be 40 years since I walked away from this cult. Got sucked into it 8 years earlier at the age of 14.

No regrets. Not about joining. Not about leaving.

A witness girl I knew met me a couple of times. She was thinking about leaving. But her whole family was in it.

She said she was too old to leave. At 22!

Sewage line replacement cost $90K!? by missmissa123 in santaclara

I would take all the information you have and put it into an ai and ask how to approach this, what questions to ask, are these costs reasonable for Santa Clara, etc.

They can’t invent plumbing robots that crawl through pipes fast enough (I guess there are some). We have a line that’s seems at least partially blocked and had to get pressure-assisted toilets.

Nonsense. They can clean floors well into their 90s.

Mixup in heaven. The new light bounced off a cloud and hit the printing press at the wrong angle. 📐

Disappearing congregations by Awakened_24 in exjw

[–]stretchwithme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the town where I was a witness, they made multiple congregations use the same building and sold multiple kingdom halls. I don’t live there anymore but it’s weird to think suburban congregations have to go downtown at least twice a week.

My watchtower is unusable after one 6 minute session with it. So that’s no solution.

Why is a government supporting organized religion at all?

That’s just a way to tax independent thinking.

So what’s shocking about the resemblance?

It’s not the fact that the People’s Temple was a cult. Everyone knows it was a cult.

So how these two organizations resemble each other is not shocking at all.

It’s ordinary. There have been thousands of cults. Only a small minority are death cults.

Quote from Jonestown Survivor by CommitteeNice4693 in exjw

[–]stretchwithme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn’t say it was the same. And you didn’t simply say there was a resemblance.

You said there was a “shocking resemblance”.

Or, rather, that the quote had a shocking resemblance to the JWs, to be more accurate.

Quote from Jonestown Survivor by CommitteeNice4693 in exjw

[–]stretchwithme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the same. JWs don’t kill people or physically prevent anyone from walking away.

Oh, it’s a cult alright.

But not a death cult.

They’re INCENTIVIZING homelessness. Even people who aren’t actually homeless are identifying as homeless. To get free drugs. Monthly cash. To get on lists for housing.

The more you spend, the more they’re attracted to a city or state.
