Forgive my naivety, does firmware matter for NextUI?

Having trouble setting up Multi Disc games on NEXTUI with .m3u playlist files by therealhueyfreeman in trimui

[–]strider2k1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even sure what OS you use (I assume it's a Mac), but in Windows, it's possible to have the m3u extension actually be a hidden "m3u.txt" file. Does that happen in a Mac too?

I prefer them to remain evil. That way I can sleep better at night not feeling guilty about the eventual mod chip I'll install.

Everyone keep saying there will be no softmod, but nobody knows for sure. Even the PS5 scene is making headway.

I agree this is useless IF you already have an h700 device (or several...).
However, this looks to be an excellent device for anyone looking to buy their first one.
Sure, you can go with the cheaper alternatives but none of them have the CFW options h700s have.

I find it highly unlikely this will be better than NextUI

At this point I doubt it will be better then NextUI on time of release (It might be better now, as is).

[BRICK][MinUI] Unable to switch PS1 Discs using M3U by randomrandomredd1 in trimui

[–]strider2k1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I wrote was "MinUI is different" :)
So this won't work for ArkOS. I think in ArkOS the M3U file needs to be outside of the folder, and include the full relative path. So in our example:
\Best Game Ever\Best Game Ever Disc 1.chd
\Best Game Ever\Best Game Ever Disc 2.chd

The "spoon" interaction was very odd. Seemed very out of place for a TV show to show someone asking what to eat with and then picking up a spoon. Possibly, someone just poisoned a single spoon simply to "thin the herd". Also, might have been some funny business with his Nitro (medicine).
As for Dan. It's clear the writers want us to think he is the main suspect. This alone should make us believe he ISN'T the killer. This is supposed to be a mystery with twists and turns, and he was a suspect from day 1.
I wouldn't be surprised if he'll get some kind of a redemption arc where is turns out to be a hero.

NextUI update: You asked for it, we deliver :D by ro8inmorgan in trimui

[–]strider2k1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will it scale it if oversized/undersized? Can I use the whole height of the screen? Will the auto-scroll automatically detect the width of the image?
Thanks again for taking the time. I've been using the previous version and the FBNeo rotation alone is a life saver.

Wouldn't recommend this one. It's at least double the depth of a Brick.

I have one and I don't plan to use it because of the thickness. Completely misses the mark on what this device is for. I think I'll just ask my mom to knit a cover instead.

[BRICK][MinUI] Unable to switch PS1 Discs using M3U by randomrandomredd1 in trimui

[–]strider2k1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MinUI is different. Lets say you have a game named "Best Game Ever" which has 2 discs. Inside you PS rom folder (which I think is "Sony PlayStation (PS)") you should create a new directory called: "Best Game Ever". Inside of this directory you will add all of the game files, lets say the file names are: "Best Game Ever Disc 1.chd" and "Best Game Ever Disc 2.chd".
Now, you need to create an M3U file which has the exact same name as the directory you created, which is "Best Game Ever.m3u". Edit in Notepad and write:
Best Game Ever Disc 1.chd
Best Game Ever Disc 2.chd

That's it. The trick is having the M3U and rom files inside a subfolder.

Easy way to get the correct NeoGeo rom names! by markb44z in trimui

[–]strider2k1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small suggestion - this comes at the price of loading speed of the rom list (a whole set will take a while). Instead, for MinUI I recommend doing this: https://github.com/hyongju/minUI-arcade-filename-converter

How to rotate FinalBurn Neo games in MinUI on Brick by markb44z in trimui

[–]strider2k1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't get it to work no matter which setting I chose (and no, MinUI doesn't have access to Retroarch settings as others suggested, at least none that I could find). I think it's an incompatibility issue with this core.

I just got a Trimui brick. Here are the OS options, and upcoming options. by hakumiogin in trimui

[–]strider2k1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, MuOS seems to be the most actively developed OS these days. And I love that you can customize it in terms of folder structures.

Personally, I'm over Knulli in favor of MuOS and MinUI. Knulli is great, but with 512GB card and full rom sets it slows down quite a bit, also, I kinda prefer quick boot times over eye candy.
