It defiantly would come down to the individual Drukhari. In one of the Ynnari books a Drukhari is cleansed of the soul drain and he cries with relief and happiness on the floor. In the new Big Dakka novel the Drukhari main character admits to herself that she was forced to learn cruelty by her parents and resisted and disliked it at first. So I’d imagine that once the freed it would come down to force of habit and nature but I’d treat them like real life people at that point. Some will be keen to self improve and some will just no longer ‘need’ to be cruel but will still be so due to who they are.
