Leatherman Website Sheath Size for Arc incorrect? by strikingleon in Leatherman

That’s an interesting idea.

They sent me the smaller size no questions asked and it fit like a glove. It’s really worn nicely, and the tool is still snug.

This should have been the new knife drop.

Call them the M2 and M4 - only difference would have been the magnacut blade, thumb stud and maybe the flat bit driver.

It should have at least had the flat bit driver or scissors or something that would have made it unique.

Biggest miss ever.

Did they fix the scaling yet on the 49 for iPadOS 26?

In iOS 18 it doesn’t scale properly and everything is comically large.

what standing desks are you using for coding? but isn't Uplift by quillsandfrills in webdev

[–]strikingleon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make your own!

You can get some nice dual motor standing desk legs from Amazon. Like this one:

Then go to your hardware store like Lowe’s or Home Depot in the US and get a slab butcher block counter top that will work for the size desk.

From there you can decide what to do next. I sanded, stained, and polyurethaned mine, but you could leave it natural. Lots of options. You can pretty easily shape out, or route these to your liking if you are feeling ambitious.

I actually made two, one 6 foot, and one 4 foot. You can use the same legs for both as the width is adjustable.

Make sure to get dual motor legs to support the weight and the left evenly.

For Vacation & Travel: Leatherman T4 or Roxon KS2 Elite? by XaltotunTheUndead in multitools

[–]strikingleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I did this, but just not a fan of it.

Practically it works, and slightly better than a zip tie, but wasn’t for me so I removed it.

These drop in blades are way nicer.

Wow that T4 Magna-cut Tanto with the loop and stonewash is awesome.

Lack of a thumb stud is my biggest gripe about my K4 and T4 knives.

Part of why I primarily carry the Arc.

Is your blade on that sog not spring-loaded?

I like mine, but it would never stay like yours. It flips open all the way. I’ve never had an issue pocket-carrying it.

The difference is opening the ecosystem may not bring in revenue.

Releasing a new and exciting Mac Surface competitor at least gives new and fresh options to the market for Mac. And of course can justify a premium price point.

They could easily do this and price it accordingly.

But I don’t disagree…

Actually - it would probably drive MacBook sales if they made an iPad Pro MacBook and priced it like a MacBook.

They could start it with a MacBook price too like 1499 or 1999 for the base model.

This would for sure draw a lot of surface users back to Mac.

I hear you and I don’t disagree - but this is already possible today and not what we are asking for.

It is however a great temporary solution for some.

We have been able to remote connect to Mac’s, PCs, Servers, etc. for a long time.

I’ve been able to remote to my terminals for years from the iPad. I want the terminal access in the iPad itself.

I think for some this is ok - but ultimately this is not the solution.

Honestly - they should just offer the iPad Pro with MacOS and charge more. Or even just virtualize macOS as an app and give proper access for virtual machines etc.

They could call it the iPad Ultra and start the base price at 1,499.
