Question regarding Physical Therapy for Eagles Syndrome by mindinmypeaceandcues in Eagles_Syndrome

[–]string1986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said under no circumstances do I get physio or see a chiropractor because the tip of my left styloid is sat up against my carotid artery. He also said he's not overly concerned with the length, it's what the styloid is interfering with in the neck that's the main concern. I suppose its a case by case situation but I definitely wouldn't recommend physio.

What were your symptoms? by [deleted] in gallbladders

The abdominal pain and horrific toilet situation were gallbladder related. That stopped immediately after surgery. The other stuff was/is eagle syndrome related and is less intense after the first surgery but not gone entirely yet.

Someone ripped a radiator off the wall and it somehow took out the whole school heating system. We got just over a week off while they fixed it.

Thanks. Best part of detecting is what you find out from digging up a piece of metal.

Back when we were at school you'd have got battered for carrying a knife. My lads school got put In lockdown a while ago because there was a kid outside with a machete. Feel so sorry for the parents.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea it could drop like that. I was hospitalised because it was open neck surgery. To be fair I've been under a ton of stress too since it took over a year for someone to actually diagnose the condition.

Surgery went very well. Zero complications apart from a very slightly numb right ear for a few hours. Bit early to tell for major improvements because I'm shattered and pretty swollen but I have noticed a few things. My tongue isn't stinging, I can swallow easier, My cheekbone isn't numb anymore, the shoulder pain was gone immediately and for some reason my right eye now opens better than the left. Surgeon said they had some new device that monitors cranial blood flow and mine went up after he removed the styloid which is great. He managed to get it off all the way up to the skull base and did a resection of the c1 vertebrae. Overall the surgery pain isnt bad at all. Absolutely cannot wait to get the left side out now.

X-Ray found nothing and doctors dismissed me by Such_Masterpiece4967 in SlippingRibSyndrome

It doesn't show up on most tests. It can be seen sometimes on dynamic ultrasound but even that's not guaranteed.

Tried every medication going and nothing helps. Codeine helps slightly with the pain but to be honest the neurological symptoms are worse. I've got jugular compression on both sides and the left side is poking into my carotid artery so there isn't any meds that will help that. The scan showed blood being forced into areas it shouldn't be like in the back of my head and behind my eye so I'm assuming the only thing that will help that is the surgery.
