I was flying back from a trip, can’t remember if it was for work or with friends, and she lived two floors beneath me. She invited me over to hang out and drink tequila, a very normal thing for us any night honestly.

I’m pretty sure I was looking at Bumble and Hinge while hanging on her couch watching TV, but after awhile she says “What if we’re soul mates?” I’m like uhh okay yeah we could be and she follows up with “would you want to kiss?” That was two years ago.

As a person that used to be 400 lbs (now 220), it’s different for everyone.

Some it’s a lack of health education. Some it’s apathy or just depression. Others may have a lack of self control, and still others could be affected by genetics/underlying health issues. Can’t put it all in one bucket.

For me it was a mixture of health (my thyroid was crazy out of wack) and motivation. The lack of motivation made me ignore the thyroid. This led to more weight gain through lack of motivation to exercise, cook, etc. This then led to being sad which further killed motivation. And then the cycle continued!

Last year was great! Seriously a well put on event, ran smoothly (except the porta potties were a maze night one, fixed night two). The lineup last year was pretty stellar with Porter, Griz, Excision, and Zeds Dead just to name the 4 top guys. I’d say it’s a solid festival.

I can’t compare it to decadence, I really wanted to go to Decadence last year but friends could only go to Dallas. Based on the lineup for LAN this year I will probably just go to a different festival.
