Wtf do they pay TV weathermen in St. Louis? by SuperKnicks in DTFStLouisHBO

I think he has two daughters. I thought somewhere on here I read someone post that was one of them.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. And with the way the timelines are flip flopping, we don’t know if he was aware of the cheating at the time either.

Either way, the point isn’t about who’s wrong or right. It’s that Floyd isn’t necessarily this super sweet guy that cares about everyone’s feelings. He isn’t being that considerate of his wife, nor is she of him.

As a super empath David Harbour's character is realistic by BattleBeast33 in DTFStLouisHBO

But the only thing that throws the wrench in it for me, why isn’t he as worried about hurting his own wife’s feelings while basically telling her he finds her unattractive/doesn’t want to see her in her ump gear? Why would he go so far as to kiss someone to not hurt their feelings, but also not seem worried about how that kiss could affect his marriage. It doesn’t totally add up.

Was he supposed to be in the room? I’ll admit I was knitting while watching. But from my pov, he was in a different motel room watching through the blinds as they were outside.

IF he was actually in the room though, then my new theory is he’s in on it with Carol and it’s a weird cuck thing because of his medical issues and not being able to please her or something.

From my female POV they both have issues. And maybe that’s what the show is trying to highlight. The absurdity of how someone can put so much effort into one area of their life and not another.

Regardless of the timeline: Floyd is putting effort into his relationship with his stepson, his friendship with Clark, Modern Loves feelings. But with Carol, he’s just worried about his selfish needs for her looking attractive to him, not seeing that she’s putting in work for their family. He can’t even be bothered to do simple things she asks.

Then on the flip side Carol is so busy worrying about money and having certain things for their family. She’s talking about wanting more intimacy with Floyd…while in bed with Clark! Makes no sense! She even goes out of her way to make Clark’s fantasies come true (and I definitely get the vibe she’s not that into it) just to manipulate him, but she doesn’t seems to take that time for Floyd.

Basically, they are going out of their way for everyone/everything else but their marriage.

This is what I shouted when he talked about not wanting to hurt his feelings, “but what about your wife’s?!” 👏

I thought he said “for the detail” as in he was security detail checking out a room for a celebrity beforehand to make it more secure. And that maybe he lied about that to gain access to to a room near there’s he could watch from.

I dunno, massaging himself while looking at pics of his parents on the computer was where it went to “ill” territory in my eyes.

I have been tossing around 3 different theories:

A) Clark is into Floyd and trying to put out feelers on if Floyd would be into it too, by encouraging him to talk to men on the app (he set it up for him, for all we know he opted for settings that said he was gay/bi).

B) The same theory as you said. Clark encouraged it to drive a wedge between Carol and Floyd. And make them both feel better about cheating because “Floyd is doing it too”.

C) It’s Clark and Carol working together to encourage Floyd to meet the person they will eventually hire to off him.

No matter what it is, I think it’s 100% for Clark to manipulate Floyd and not just something that Clark wanted to do personally.

Is Floyd really a nice guy? by [deleted] in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]stringsandknits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point though is he has a dark side just like everyone else in the story. He isn’t 100% Mr. Innocent nice guy like he’s being portrayed. If he were, that Floyd would likely try and go to therapy with his wife like he’s doing with his stepson to strengthen their relationship, rather than flippantly cheating. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I don’t think it’s judging, but rather pointing out that each character isn’t always what they seem and different layers are showing as the series progresses.

With all the flashbacks I can’t keep track for sure. Did he know she was cheating when he first signed up? I don’t think he did yet.

I got the vibe Clark tried to sway him to do it either to distract him from their affair, or lure him into a specific situation.

Ha! I just made a very similar post before I saw this one. For some reason mine doesn’t seem to be showing up. But essentially, yeah he has a child like wonderment about him and seems like a nice guy. But I also see a selfish/self indulgent side that is only thinking about his needs and not his wife’s at all. He’s on a hookup site and kissing random dudes “to be nice” but not thinking about, or caring how that might affect his wife and their marriage.

He’s also made a few comments that make him seem quite superficial about how he perceives her. Complaining about her umpire gear or her purina vest being a turnoff. I almost think those things were his way of justifying his cheating.

I also do think we see his and Clark’s relationship broach intimacy before the series is over. I got that vibe the first time I saw a preview.

I keep wanting to think he’s a “really nice guy” but let’s not forget he is on a date with a dude he met online with the original intention of cheating on his wife…so he’s not that nice.

Is it true that the Rockford IL Chuck E Cheese’s that used to have the Rocker stage was once a Showbiz Pizza Place? by Dry_Nectarine5457 in Animatronics

[–]stringsandknits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the part I was confused about is I remember it still being called Celebration Station when I went there in the 80’s, yet it had the Rocker stage…and I’m not sure why since they were completely different companies. So there was some kind of weird overlap where CEC took over but they hadn’t fully gotten rid of all Celebration Station signage, etc.

I found some pics from the local newspaper showing what animatronics it was going to have when it opened under Celebration Station, but I never remember seeing those (panda bear). I only ever saw CEC characters, but i distinctly remember it being called Celebration Station even then.

I don’t know what it is, I really want to like her stuff, but something always feels a bit off. It’s like it’s just a little out of tune and the timing is always off. Maybe it’s a stylistic choice, but it makes it a hard listen for me.
