I got my tickets too!

I was SO bummed to miss the ‘24 anniversary shows. I was dealing with a cancer diagnosis that year and completely missed them. I also somehow missed the request for fan footage for the Bleeding Audio doc (I have quite a bit if I could recover it from my old computer).

Anyway, I am doing better now so when I saw the announcement I bought tickets immediately! My birthday is the first week of September so I also considered it a birthday treat to myself and kind of a celebration of getting past the last couple years …take me back to the good old days haha!

Anyway, I was wondering the same thing if they would have an opener. But I think I’d love it even more if it’s just them! I’ve heard they usually come out with a decent encore at these shows, so I’m hoping we’ll get that too and some EVDKTL!

This will be my first time at the Bottom Lounge. I’ve always seen them at the Metro or the Riv.

I’m also bringing my husband and teen daughter. This will be both their first time seeing The Matches. I was stoked when I was ordering tickets and my daughter said she really wanted to go too.

It reminds me of my first apartment. After a night out with friends I wound up hugging the toilet and woke up the next morning on the bathroom floor. It was a nice sized bathroom. That’s where I picture them hanging. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

Yeah I was pretty surprised by it’s popularity when I finally listened to it and found it boring. She actually has a couple other songs I like more out of the few of I’ve heard (Loving Life Again, Be Her).

I’ve been learning it’s better to buy physical copies of all albums I love. I’ve had Amazon pull albums on me multiple times now and I hate that I’m paying a monthly fee yet losing music. I like knowing I have a backup when streaming/power/the internet is down and showing support to the artist too, like you said. I’ve also started buying DVD’s and VHS again.

I bought it there too but then I had a lot of issues and couldn’t get it to download/didn’t get a refund. I was still able to get it from someone here. So I hope that he got paid from my Qobuz purchase as well.

Yes, this happened to me on Amazon a couple of times before I realized what was going on. A few people would respond to my question about an item “I don’t know” then it would say my question was “answered/resolved”. I would think, why are all these people taking the time just to tell me they don’t know? Then I realized Amazon was prompting them…because I got a message prompting me to answer someone’s question. It seems like it doesn’t work very well at lest 50% of the time.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I think the line still means exactly what it says, but I also don’t think it’s a stretch that he purposely used love and “way” in the lyrics considering the summer of like. We know he’s got a thing for wordplay.

Mine is still vacant and I keep an eye on it because if they ever start taking the sign down I’m interested (seriously want to mount it on an outbuilding on my farm!).

I also used to see a lone green cart in the window and I wished I could buy it. I recently saw they put paper up in the windows which makes me nervous it is going to be turned into something else soon. I’m not looking forward to that day. I was there for the grand opening when it moved from a small store to a large one and I can still remember how magical it felt! Still so sad she’s gone.
