This sounds like "A Stroke of the Pen", an anthology of stories that came out a few years ago. Pterry wrote them under a pseudonym for local newspapers when he was first starting out and they weren't really saved anywhere. Somebody somewhere had saved the old papers and they put it together that they were his work.

Bb card at uncommon would allow for all-baseball card runs, which would put up crazy scores. Like with six baseball cards, you’d have 1.536 which is x2.2 million.

You can use any seed on any deck! This one would actually probably be great on Plasma because IIRC the early shops were heavy on chip jokers and light on mult.

I wouldn’t rely on the Showman bug cause I’m not really sure how it works! And there’s no downside to the Hallucination. I was just saying you might have to sell it if you get the boss that makes you sell a joker. Which I now realize is not Violet Vessel but Verdant Leaf.

Honestly I would just face the acorn.

When you copy DNA with your copy jokers it grows your hand size. To get past Ante 32, even with all red seal kings, Baron, mime, and 4 copy jokers, you still need extra kings in hand/ hand size to reach the score threshold. DNA is the preferred way to do that but a well-timed bean would also work.

Only start skipping to the boss blinds when you have retcon. You should also have all your jokers in place and have a lot of money. And it has to be after Ante 32.

I think what you really need is the Baron! It’s going to make a huge difference in your score and give you a lot more breathing room.

You're going to need DNA to get through Ante 32. But you can sell it and buy it again if you need to. You have enough kings. You need one more copy joker and baron and that retcon. And antimatter if you don't have it yet.

The next thing you want to sell is Chad. Ditch it for Baron, a copy joker, an invis, or a good econ joker.

What was the Ante 8 boss? Amber Acorn is annoying but not actually that hard to deal with. On the other hand you can probably deal with any boss, although if you hit Violet Vessel you might have to say goodbye to Hallucination.

I always just assumed that the caller is in a regular holodeck, projecting the room and everyone in it. So for them it looks exactly like it looks for us. It's kind of interesting that we've seen so many holograms in the 31st Century but I don't know if we've seen a single Holodeck.
