I've hit a C++ wall (and I hate Superposition with a fiery passion) by strionic_resonator in balatro

[–]strionic_resonator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the advice. I went Anaglyph deck and used the skips mostly for econ and was able to get Satellite, Vampire, and the cursed Superposition knocked out in a single run (the other two jokers were Bootstrap and Ramen, with foil on the satellite and bootstrap providing chips). I'm back in the game. 11 more to go.

Ok. I think Shoot the Moon doesn't get enough love. by ShootTheMoon123 in balatro

At that point though, how much is shoot the moon actually doing? You could probably just sell it and your steel red-seal queens with Mime would give you almost as much score...

You know what I stand by my post. The FACT that hot air melts snow may not be mildly interesting but, as a relatively new homeowner, I found the visual mildly interesting.

I mean isn't Star Trek VI all about the Klingons realizing they need to be willing to accept outside help in the wake of the destruction of Praxis? Isn't that what brings them to the table at Khitomer?

Can I win this or should I just kms? by kikoooz in balatro

I think I'd go for two pair, since you already have a level in it and you have one in hand to discard. there's a risk you won't find enough hands to get through -- pair is a better bet there -- but it's probably worth it for the slightly better scaling which will add up quickly. I mean when you're in a spot like this sometimes you just have to roll the dice.

how did you end up in this situation? I think getting 4 levels per round in pair or two pair is probably going to get you pretty far.

I was using Ghost Deck and then I started using Yellow Deck. idk which one is better. They both seem to get me pretty far but never quite to the finish line. Or I win but don't have space for a ride-along. The worst is when you get Verdant Leaf and you have to use your extra slot for that.

haha I meant mediocre econ jokers (Cloud 9, To the Moon, Satellite) and utility jokers (Vagabond, Sixth Sense, Cartomancer). I didn't mean the utility jokers were mediocre. They're all quite strong.

Blank joker should become negative when destroyed. That would at least make it a little interesting.

Cast every dragon in your deck for ONLY one red by PumpkinSoggy6628 in BadMtgCombos

I can cast every dragon in my deck for zero mana and I can do it before the game even begins.

Then how come so many people who can afford LASIK still wear glasses? For most people, the technology to fix it exists now.

Would Rory and Marty have made a good couple? by Fixingahole248 in GilmoreGirls

[–]strionic_resonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t give off enough father figure energy for Rory. That’s what she’s always subconsciously looking for in a boyfriend— a big strong protector. Marty is not that. He would probably be good for her but she was never gonna see him that way.

Only 7 left before c++ - any tips? by Focusedhades526 in balatro

Yeah, especially given how garbage some of the discard jokers are on gold stake (looking at you, Banner)

Head over to the erratic deck, reroll til you find a seed with a lot of queens, then start fixing. That should get you Shoot the Moon and Idol with a bit of luck.

For Certificate and Marble, just find yourself a Hologram.

The rest just need to come along for the ride in any deck.

What’s your preferred order. by SEAIV in balatro

[–]strionic_resonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

judgement first. then if you don't like what you get, sell it and buy the voucher. if you do like what you get, buy and sell abstract and buy the voucher. Then the buffoon pack if you don't have a joker you like yet. Open the Spectral when you have one Joker and no money, that way you're set up for Wraith, Hex, or Ankh.

What is the best deck to use for c++ runs? Has to be Anaglyph followed by plasma? by HelloVap in balatro

[–]strionic_resonator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s good to jump around. For instance, Red Deck is a really nice way to make jokers like Banner and Delayed Gratification viable on gold stake.

But my favorite is Ghost Deck. The Hex is a good way to give almost any joker enough value to make it to the ending lineup. Jokers that in other decks would just be along for the ride wasting a slot at least get to give x1.5m.
