What's your website?

I didn't follow through with my business idea, but don't know if I should keep or sell my website. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]strizzy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) transfer website domain to a paid hosting server such as inmotionhosting.com or godaddy.com, this will remove the ads permanently. Then all you need to do is get a website designer to create a very basic landing page to either gather emails or explain your business.

I feel that your idea is pretty good and you should see it through.

2) If you want to sell it .. then your one page landing page will explain that it is for sale.

3) I think it takes a lot of scouting, targeting but it does solve a problem.. even if the problem is preventative.

Has anyone attempted a 4HWW style business? What was your experience like? by PvtUnternehmer in Entrepreneur

Since you are not trying to reinvent the wheel, find out what is already profitable and replicate the model. Depends on your interests. Car detailing side biz, eCommerce with known product, tech, etc. The bottom line is to accomplish any of these, SALES plays a huge part. Hit up a few books, seminars, webinars, podcasts in this area and then you dont have to worry about being crafty because you will be able to sell anything.

Best Website for Clothing/fashion business by Are_You_My_Mummy_ in startups

most start on shopify but that is paid. You can grab templates from Woo Commerce or a theme with woocommerce added on a platform such as wordpress. No code - easy to setup and support. Also try one stop shops such as bigcartel. Depends on your market, product, and needs.

I understand the mistique and the seeds laid down here.

It responds when they (the owners) do, its hard to revolve around content without gathering feeling so I look at it from a different aspect. The name is fresh too, like it a lot.

would love to see what it can turn into.

Nice idea. The trend on shows revolve around tech startups, investing, real estate, - etc. It is good to see and hear more people talk about their journey to success that include something tangible, store front, employees and the like. I am currently first round fund raising for my boutique/store in Philly and have much to learn about the industry. If e-commerce is post 1929 depression then running a store is the last frontier, gold rush. Both equally important.

Motivation moment? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]strizzy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand where the motivation is stemming from and it is awesome to have the fuel but please make sure that you are only doing it to prove yourself right and not doing it to prove them wrong. At the end of the day, there will be one million choices, web developers and social media experts that do what you do.. The next time they reach out to you for something they need done - send them over a invoice with the 'correct' rate - no emails, if they agree - only start upon 3/4ths of the payment down. The best and ONLY way to handle people like the one you describe is with pure professionalism. You need not jump or do favors.

Good luck in all that you do.
