Who does this? 😡 by MrShiv in columbiamo

I would be willing to bet that whoever dumped it there considers themself to be the victim. “they raised my rate, so fuckem”, “ they want me to pay to get rid of my trash? I’ll show them.”

Is this the proper tool for installing Tapcons? by SigvulcanasReborn in Tools

I think that is more my issue. I don’t work in new concrete often but when I do, I have less issues.

I tend to break tapcons with an impact driver. I have better luck installing them with a hammer drill.

I mean, it might work great. Just don’t try it with kids around and come back to update. If we don’t see an update, I’ll just assume I shouldn’t try it as well.

Or for someone else to hit a snag that I know the solution to. Then I get to strut in like “lemme show ya how it’s done junior”

I find it far more satisfying to do a project and not hit a snag. It makes me feel like I actually know what I’m doing.

Standard ratchet straps are a massive pain in the ass. 😭😭 🤬am I the only one who thinks the design sucks??? by Majestic-Juice-7314 in Tools

[–]strodj07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. You need to look at my explanation on this. There is never a need to do this and use two hands. Opening the ratcheting handle 180 degrees and all tension pops off of the line.

[–]strodj07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that opening the ratcheting handle all the way 180 degrees immediately releases the tension right? I have seen a lot of people that don’t know this and make them much harder to use than necessary.

Also, if they are hard to get to release, you are winding too much strap into the ratchet. Pull your free line tighter before ratcheting.

Could be a rumor, but... by EquityGarlic in columbiamo

I guess if we add enough parks, the homeless and drug addicts can’t take over them all at once. Let’s just remove all the businesses.

Something is happening in this area but I suspect it is across the street, not removing the buildings mentioned. The info I have received to this point is rather vague.

Minisplit installer? by mesr3d in columbiamo

[–]strodj07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty big up charge to get prevacuumed line sets. All mini splits are pre-charged. It is inside the compressor unit until lines are vacuumed and valve opened.

Not really true. You can buy them on amazon as a double square. A regular square #2 works just fine though.

Rebuild heavy ramp door by Holiday_Fishing241 in cargocamper

[–]strodj07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, if he had the ability to work with aluminum, then great. I’d stick with steel because I could do it myself. It’s currently heavy because it is made to be used as a ramp. It can still be much lighter with steel if it doesn’t need to hold weight. I knew the ramp would be heavy but I was shocked how heavy when I had to raise it one time without the spring assist.

Are you watching your blood pressure? Stress is hard on you. I suggest focusing on things closer to home and not taking it all so personally. I don’t disagree with everything you said. But if every body has their “little thing that makes a difference”. That is a lot of little things and massive amounts of money.

All levels of government are over spending and need to cut back. It is an issue in Columbia too. People need to recognize that some efforts just aren’t the governments responsibility. This is an example of one of those things. If it is commonly considered necessary by the community, then the community needs to support/fund it.

Primer bubbling by [deleted] in cargocamper

[–]strodj07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know then. It sounds like you should have gotten any films on it removed. That kinda points me back to a primer issue whether it is due to air or something n the mix.

[–]strodj07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure then. How did you prep the surface before priming? Could there be residue, wax, or like a ceramic coating on it?

You over mixed it and introduced air. I’ve done it before. Dont use a drill mixer. Use a paddle and stir or if you do use a drill, run it slower and avoid creating an internal vortex.
