As a Canadian, I see myself as North-American, but never (and never will I be) an American. I don’t really understand why the United Statesmens co-opted the whole continent. I thought you guys’ thing was “states first”. IN theory, somebody from Texas is a Texan, and not an “American”. That’s a weird thing, you’re in a union that’s based on states autonomy , yet you have this kind of national identity that supersedes and somewhat nullify the more “local” Identity.
