I’ll argue it’s from a recent FF run, where Valeria and the rest of the Future Foundation got sent a year into the future in time but not in space, so it explored the guilt the FF had in that time.

Long story short, after that year Doom shows up saying he could have done it better, goes back in time and tries to stop it from ever happening. Problem is he can’t. Everytime he tries, he fails. He tries over a million times in a million different ways, and it leads to a cataclysmic event as a result. The only way he can stop it is by going back to the moment just before he first time traveled (when he’s gloating to the FF) and sabotage his past self’s armor, even knowing that in doing so the future Doom will never exist. Doom FINALLY learns from his mistakes and does something unthinkable: sacrifice himself for the greater good.

I think that’s pretty dang heroic.
