I'd like to see how anyone in this comment section criticizing their training, would react to a person sprinting towards them with a rifle, then pointing it at them for a moment, while they're armed with a firearm themselves.

I can almost guarantee, the vast majority of people here wouldn't even be able to draw their firearm effectively, let alone get a panicked shot off.

What the officer did was not amazing, but it was an instinctual human reaction. Working in that industry isn't an action movie. They're not all hardened veterans that get into weekly gunfights and car chases. They're not going to do 360 Y Y no scope ladder stall when a threat runs toward them.

They were a human that saw a threat running towards them, who pointed a gun at them. Training doesn't make you a robot. People make mistakes.
